Yes, it is considered to help repair muscle tissue and restore glycogen levels. The longer you've been running the more likely eating earlier will be beneficial. Small quantities are sufficient(no super-sized McDonalds meals). Fluid intake is still crucial and some of the carbohydrate replacement drinks are promoted for the post run time.

Eating within 20 minutes after running is not so bad, once you get your shower and dress up,is gonna be at least 30 minutes up to 40 minutes, and by that time is no problem, you probably wanna get a juice or SOME water before you get in shower and then finish eating after. My coach always tells us to not drink so much water right after the training, drink just a little bit by a little bit, few minutes between. Try to not drink so much water while eating, because water does not let your body gets all what it needs from food while eating, I remember that from school and also from my experience in track and field.

Yes. Because you have used energy which needs to be replaced.

Yes. But you should be hydrating constantly, especially in warm or hot weather.

I dunno where some of the information you've already received came from, but I'd be very wary of taking their advice. For ex, your muscles burn glycogen, which is best replaced by carbs, but it surely doesn't provide protein to your body. Meats & dairy provide protein...

Also the part about not drinking much water while you eat. I don't know if it's true or not, but I think a runner needs to remain hydrated, PLUS water is great for the digestion process.

I mean, think about it, how many constipated runners do you know who place in a race?????...........

Good Luck

it all depends on what u eat.. if you have carbs (bread or pasta) it is beneficial... they renew proteins to your muscles... but if you eat ice cream or gummies... its not bad... but it does not do anything beneficial

water is important to renew h2o in your body... but fruit drinks(ocean spray or capri suns) is much better to have because it also gives you some fruit benefits to

happy running
