Have you ever liked somebody who is really, really popular? How did it turn out? I like a guy who is really popular, and I just want to see if anyone has any stories of actually winning over a guy (or girl) who was really popular. I have a feeling he won't like me, but I don't know...

im in ur same situation. i have a thing for a semipopular guy who plays soccer and hes a total cutie! but there is that competition part to liking a popular guy. especially if ur like me and hang out w/ppl who are part of the theatre croud. if u wanna land him, you have to prove that ur special and that u have something the little preppy girls dont.

You have to bring something really special and different to the table to even begin to talk to this guy, i.e to compete with the really popular girls and such. If you don't already have lots of money or are quasi-popular to begin with I don't think you have much of a shot, unless you save his life or something in which he will at least acknowledge that you exist. However that does not guarantee an "in''. It isn't like all those corny azz teen movies where the normal guy/girl end up with the super hott guy or girl. Reality is harsh.

In general, popular people won't do anything that would bring down their status. So if you know you're not at the same level of popularity as the other person, just try to become closer friends with him and, if you two become good friends, go for the flirting and stuff. If you can't even become close enough friends to feel comfortable enough to hang out with him and his friends at the mall, then don't go for it, because you'll only get hurt. I know from experience. in the real world there is no such thing as popularity. an average joe can get a hot girl and vice versa.
id say since you are still in HS you should probably avoid him. popular guys in HS area always jerks and have alot of growing up to do

I really liked (and still do ;)) this senior who just graduated. He was a tall basket ball jock who was super sexy. However, all the girls would throw themselves at him, but I didnt. His friend since elementary school made him go out with her and shes absolutely hideous and a B I T C H. But he knew me through my brother who was in his grade and everytime Id pass him in the hall way, hed always give me a look and stare at me like Im interested kinda look. right now hes not in this country for the yr but who knows whatll happen down the road! my only regret was not talking to him more. I was so shy and maybe said hi at most. go up to him!!!

i've liked about 3 people who are popular. i once had a huge crush on this guy who all the girls loved. nup, didn't turn out well coz i got obsessed and he got freaked out. oops. popular guys and girls only tend to like other popular guys and girls. they don't wanna ruin their reputation by going out with someone "unpopular" and "lower on the social ladder". yep, it sux but they are just missing out.

maybe it was cause she was a girl but when i was in high school i dated this one girl who was really good looking and a cheer leader. at first she didnt like me at all cause i wasnt good enough or something but then we had a lot of classes together and after a long time( a year almost), we dated. but i heard girls are more likely not to care about those kinds of things like that show king of queens, you know that hot chick w/ the fat guy. idk but you should atleast give it a try you never now unless you try.

The funny thing about popular, it rarely transcends into adult hood. Once the big fish leaves their little pond, they are like a fish out of water.

I used to like a guy that was really popular but all these girls who were prettier than me started flirting with him so I basically gave up.

when i was in the 7th grade there was this guy named hunter wray and dam he was fine but he was also more than that he was super sweet but i told myself he was to good for me and left it alone and then in the 8th grade he was in a car accident and died and even though he was so popular i was his only friend who went to the funeral and i miss him everyday well thats a little corney but true because i was like inlove wit him
