The short answer is no, you two can have a five hour long make out session if you wanted lol. The thought process is that it starts with hugs and kisses, then it turns into sex, and that IS frowned upon in the Catholic religion. Parents tend to "discourage" kids from hugging and kissing when they are young, to keep this sort of problems from occurring. I think, if i where you, i would sit down with him and come up with a compromise of some sorts. Like no sex but affection is OK. I hope my advise helps you two out.
Peace and God Bless!!!

Well let me answer it like this, you want to have a steady pace relationship and you want to kiss him, he says no because of religion and you say your family is not religious!
You need to think about his feelings as well as yours I haven't heard its against Catholic religion but you could sit down and talk with him to find out the reason and why. That way you won't be persuaded by others but know the real reason why and from the person it concerns.

No kissing and hugging is not against the catholic religion however sex before marriage or not for the use of having children is. It is the belief of the Catholic faith that not only should you be married but that sex is only to have children. That is why birth control was concidered a sin to catholics because if your using birth control it meant you were having sex for other reasons then to have children.

Yes it is against Catholic Religion to touch each other before marriage. But in today's day and age does anyone listen ? I doubt it,so what's up with your boyfriend? And really how old are you? That is the main Question?

No, kissing and hugging are allowable before marriage...unless a person can't handle those signs of affection without getting crazily lustful.
Your boyfriend may have adopted a personal standard of what he considers acceptable before marriage. Out of love, it would be nice if you helped him uphold that, rather than try to tempt him away from it. But in a relationship, both people's needs and desires need to be addressed. You should speak with him about his reasoning for refraining from kissing, so you can learn to understand his point of view, and you should share your point of view with him so that he understands you.

I'm catholic and so is my husband. We had premarital sex which is against the religion but kissing and hugging is not! So call him on his you-know-what and let him know that you know its okay to kiss and hug. He may have said he can't because he is scared or nervous so try talking to him and be honest.

catholic familys usually have thier own set of rules apart from thier religon. You also said that your family was NOT religous if so then yes there is no way he would be allowed to even date youhe is definatly pushing the rules of his religon and he is probably hesitant to kiss you because of that. trust me he would probably think he would go to he double hockey sticks if he kissed you. take it from me im a christian not a catholic but christian PS the difference is big
