What if someone were a faithful christian giving everything he had for God and walks in God's spirit everyday. He/she has an accident and becomes brain damaged. It effects them in a way that they no longer believe in God, like amnesia or some other problem. They begin living the opposite lifestyle that they used to. What happens to them? What happens to that persons spirit which was born again when they accepted christ? Would it be fair for that person to be sent to Hell if they acted the way they did because of something being wrong with their brain?
Okay, what about people who haven't had an accident, but have some kind of chemical imbalance in their brain that keeps them from living right, or wanting to live right? How can they be held accountable for the way they live if it has to do with the chemicals in their brain?

I believe that God truly knows the heart of every man and if something truly beyond their control keeps them from Him (such as a chemical imbalance) I am sure He will make the fair and just decision.
As far as the first, if they have full use of their brain and no detriments other than memory loss, then I would imagine that their new life would be one that they could be held accountable for. But I am not God so I don't know. He may view the 'new' life as damaged and restore them to their previous self in the end. With God all things are possible.

I don't believe either instance would send a person to Hell. It would be beyond their control. The Bible states the mentally "challenged" will go to Heaven. Above all, God is in control. Only he is in control.Only he can judge.

Why would everyone that does not follow your same beliefs go to your "hell". Why wouldn't people go to the perspective of "heaven" that corresponds to their beliefs... and you to their religion's "hell" for not believing that?
