I entered the wrong serial number for a program of mine, and i want to know how to delete that serial number and enter a new one, so the activation code will be right. Any ideas of what i can do?

Thanks a million.

Contact the company who made the software. The methods of inserting serial numbers can be different. If you own a legitimate copy of the software, you are entitled to support, if not, well, you're a pirate.

There's a couple ways it can be done, depending on the program. First off, it would help if we knew EXACTLY the program you're talking about. Otherwise, try this:

Under the Help menu, there may be an option to enter registration information, if not under Help, then possibly another menu. If there is no way to re-enter the registration, then:

You can always try to find the product registration code in the registry, if you know how to use the registry. Though for that, again it would help if we knew exactly what program you need to change the reg key for.

try to reinstall the software.. when you do that, it will again ask you for the right code and you can punch it in... the other option could be available in "help"..... normally, the program may allow you to enter the code again if it is incorrect.. it really depends on what program it is... the more complex fix which is highly "not recommended" is registry editor... you have to find the key for the program in regedit and then change the values on that key.. if you know how to do it, this is easy.. if not, don't try it..

If you put the wrong Activation number in it won't work anyway. Once you click to activate and if the numbers were wrong it will take you back to the beginning where you started from and in that case you have a chance to put the Right Numbers in.. Give it a try as you have nothing to loose. (IT WON'T WORK WITH THE WRONG NUMBERS )
