You need a quiet place without distraction. Sit in a comfortable position or lie down. Breath deeply through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Clear your mind and let your body relax. There are things you can use such as oils and music (sounds of nature works well) to set the scene.

Rod Stryker has a very good CD to get you started. It is called 3 Meditations to Live By. I got it several years ago, but I think it is still available.

take yoga would be my #1 suggestion.

well i think it's easier if you find a group; a sangha or something. a buddhist group or something. i personally love to do this www.dancemeditation.org and that is how i got into meditation. there are many kinds. find something that works for you.
