First he wouldn't negociate during the chase, now it's the off season and he wont negociate. I believe he has a Chevrolet only clause in his current contract. He has only said he will honor his current contract.

Yes, and did you notice his Chevy butt licking at the awards banquet last night? I thought he was going to start frenching the microphone when he was talking about them and what they have done for his career but not one mention of being excited to be going to Toyota. He's said all the right things but I think his intentions are different from his words. We will have to wait and see but something is definitely going on there.

Holy crap Snake, I thought Biffle and Kenseth were going to DEI? LOL, you've got some messed up sources.

... That's what I like about Tony. He speaks his mind. I don't blame him for not discussing it during the summer. He already doesn't like the media. I'm sure he knows if he leaks any kind of information about what his future plans are he will be swamped with reporters. Tony would rather knock them out !!!!

... Sounds like a smart move. He's keeping quiet, honoring his contract, and will probably move on after 2008. I would love to see him at RCR driving something that resembles the car Dale Sr drove. That would bring some drama to the sport.

He doesn't want to drive a Toyota but due to he contract he must. I think that Tony will be back in a Chevy for the 2009 season. So why negotiate with Joe Gibbs now.

I wouldn't sign either. Toyota has proven nothing except they have tons of money. Tony likes to race and likes to win. Unless Toyota shows up and starts having a good car every week look for him to leave when the contract is up and end up back in a Chevy.

I believe his current contract stipulation that he is talking about is the time frame aspect not the Chevy Only portion of it. Tony is a TRUE RACER he would rather drive a Toyota than sit out all year!!! 2009 I think it will be time for him to move on to Greener Pastures!!!!

He is signed through 2009. Alot of time between now and then, but after hearing his speech tonight at the banquet he was really emphasizing Chevy alot. Who knows though contracts have been broke before(Kurt Busch, Jamie McMurrary) to just name a few.

Tony will renew his contract. His current contract runs out in 2009. Tony is the type of person who will drive anything anything anywhere.

He said he wants to enjoy his short off-season. His contract is up after 2008. What's the rush? If he wins in a Toyota, he'll stay with Gibbs. Besides, Toyota's are built in the USA. All the cars are the same except fpr decals.

Tony says he wants the off season off. That's all there is to it. His Chevy contract is with Tony Stewart Racing, concerning his WoO and USAC teams, so don't get that confused with his JGR contract.
