1.5 trillion on the war. i'm going to write it out because 'trillion' is tough to fathom.

$1,500,000,000,000. if you divide that by 300,000,000 Americans....we could have wrote a check for $5000 to every man, woman, and baby in this country!

thanks george...how did you know i'd want to fund a war with my $5000? at least gas is cheap.

I'd buy a new granite counter top for my kitchen.
Or, put it on the pricipal on my home mortgage and make it worth a lot more than 5000.
Maybe get custom made hardwood stairs.
Buy a leaf rake lawn vaccume attachment for my tractor.
Pay off some bills.

I don't know....anything..... maybe not even spend it. But it sure would have been nice to keep that money in my own pocket.

But in reality... the war hasn't cost us more in taxes. Bush is simply paying for it with loans. It is the future budgets and the future generations which are going to feel the brunt of this ridiculous war.

Use it to find someone who is really serious about stopping terrorism and will stop trying to be so dang PC about everything.

I would use it to get some leaders who don't care so much about getting votes as much as protecting this country and our Constitution like the Oath they take. Leaders who are more concerned with National Security than they are with special interest groups and the UN. People who aren't so busy keeping their jobs that they forget to do their jobs (like all of congress and the White House).

Or I would go on a really nice Honeymoon before Hitlery Clinton takes over and then we become Socialist.

Yes, those gas prices just keep going down.

I would probably invest in a big profit company, or in school, buy something that would continue paying off...
or at least use it to buy part of something that would continue paying me...

Use it to fund a new start up business I have been dreaming about... (plus lots from the bank)

Buy shoes?

:)

Jess - feel free to email

$1000 on some chrome for my bike
$1000 for the HD-DVD/Blue Ray player
$1000 sound system

Knowing that I just spent $5000 of GW Bush's money? Priceless...

This time of year I'd make sure several needy families had plenty of heat and their best holidays ever.

The costs will continue to rise - the stated as well as the unstated costs.

I would divide it up into 5 $1000 expenditures

1. would be donated to my church to support our new building.
2. would be placed into some kind of retirement fund starter
3. would be used to buy a wedding ring for my GF.
4. would fund my screen writing career
5. would start my bankroll for my professional poker career.

Indeed. And this war hasn't seemed to help the price of gas any, either.

I'd put that money into education, myself.

It has driven up the price of other things as well. The total cost is much greater, especially if you put any kind of value on human life.
