my friend told me this about her "bpyfriend." we both live in U.S and she saud her now bf lives in england. and how he's one of his friends and he visits her a lot. and he asked her out through this note. and she told me his first and last name. and she showed me a pic of him and his siblings. and well...it looked like she got it off the internet. no offense. it was 3 seperate pics, and he looked like a model. and then she told me her bf died yesterday and he sent her a note. idk how he sent it to her in 3 days(how long they were dating) from overseas. and the handqriting on there looked like hers, ecept messier. and it was in cursive. and i know no guy writes like that.

am i just being paranoid or is she telling the truth? there's something that just wont let me belive her. idk what it is, but i just cant.

That does soundy really shady, I wouldn't believe it either. I'm not proud of it but I made up a fake boyfriend who lived in a city about an hour away when I was in 6th grade and I got fake pics from my older sister. They were real pictures but no one believed I could be dating someone so good looking and older than me. Eventually I had to say we had broken up b/c it was long-distance and it was destroying us. I don't know if I ever came clean but it didnt' matter, they didn't believe me. Some girls just feel the need to make stuff up like that sometimes.

Also, I knew a girl in school who made up that she was dying of cancer and we later found out she was perfectly healthy, she just wanted the attention.

You're certainly right to be skeptical because very little of this adds up, but more to the point, why does any of this bother you, anyway? When people lie, they usually do it for very specific reasons: To keep from getting into trouble, to keep from hurting someone's feelings, to make up for some perceived deficiency on their part, or in support of on-going lies they have also been telling themselves. It sounds as if she wanted to make her life appear more glamorous than it actually is. So, maybe she could benefit from your empathy rather than your disdain. I mean, you could bust her on it, but would that really make you any happier?

Maybe she's telling lies. But maybe someone online is messing with her feelings? It all sounds very fishy to me though. If she's a good friend to you, just let her have her fun with imagining a boyfriend overseas (whom is now dead) don't worry about it unless it's hurting your friendship in a bad way. Good luck to you.
