Pablo Picasso

synthetic cubism was a movement in the United States around the early 1900/1915. Picasso and a fellow by the name of Henri Matisse were working on a movement called Cubism.
I accredit Picasso's "Violin" sculpture of 1915, construction of painted metal as originator of sculptured painting.
(not from the Rennaissance period)

sculptured painting? do you mean a heavily textured painting, or a painting on a sculpture?

textured paintings were orginated during the rennisance art period in italy. oil painting was being developed in two ways at the time, through thin glazes and texture.

and seriously, its NOT PICASSO!!!

Rembrandt is rumored to have made some. I doubt we will ever know. Like the inventor of the wheel he/she will be unknown.
