There's this restaurant down the road that I love, called the Texas Roadhouse. Delicious food. Anyway, I'm going there tonight and would just like to know how unhealthy this meal I usually get is:

-Half rack of baby back ribs
-Large piece of barbecue chicken
-Wild rice
-Cup of chili
-2-3 sweet rolls with cinnamon butter dip
-Iced tea to wash it all down

I think it's pretty unhealthy, mostly because of the sodium level...and maybe a little high in saturated fat and cholesterol...but not too, too bad. I only go there on days I go to the gym and do some heavy lifting (West Side 4 Skinny Bastards routine), so all of that protein comes in handy for building my muscle up.

Whatta ya think?

Yo...I don't think it's 2,500 calories...let's say 500 for the ribs, 500 for the chicken, 300 for the rice, 300 for the chili, 300 for the rolls...1900 max. That's a lot though, damn.

most of the ingredients are all natural and the only processed carbohydrates would be found in the sweet rolls and any sauces , etc. used to cook the ribs or chicken. the real problem with the meal is that it's just far too caloric dense. all of that food is probably 2,500 + calories.

The meal is definitely high in saturated fat and cholesterol. While I understand that you do heavy lifting and need protein, it's also important to find a balance in your diet. You may want to try a salad with light dressing rather than that extra piece of chicken or sweet rolls.
