Not a good diagnosis online---- But I would guess Anal glands or a prolapsed rectum, if it's the latter the dog REALLY needs a vet immediately. There's no real way to tell you online though. Call the vet, describe it to them and better yet, just make the appointment. If the dog begins to act any differently take him to an emergency vet right away.

Looks like a giant marshmellow?
Could be anal glands. Either a vet or a groomer would be able to show you how to empty them. Since it's the first time, take him to a vet to be sure.

The best thing to do would be to take him to the vet. They would know more, and they would actually be able to see what is going on with him.

I believe this is what a vet goes to school for.
Try taking him to the vets ( it's the law if you own an animal it is to be treated when needed)
I'm sure he is in pain and you've let it go to long as it is.

vet.now.

we cannot diagnose an animal we cannot see
and most of us are just people ready to give advice and aren't real vets

save yourself some trouble, go to the vet
:D
