.....AND finish by 75--OR was it just a statement of fact on how long mankind had been on the earth?
IN one of our books , we had on chart that 1975 would end 6000 years of man's existence, a comment on that transcript by an official of our society:
jv chap. 8 p. 104 Declaring the Good News Without Letup (1942-1975)
" F. W. Franz gave the concluding talk. He began by saying: “Just before I got on the platform a young man came to me and said, ‘Say, what does this 1975 mean?’” Brother Franz then referred to the many questions that had arisen as to whether the material in the new book meant that by 1975 Armageddon would be finished, and Satan would be bound. He stated, in essence: ‘It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don’t any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975. But the big point of it all is this, dear friends: Time is short. Time is running out, no question about that."

**I was in the truth along with my wife for about 10 years when that book was published, we indeed were excited about the idea of 6,000 years being concluded of man's existence by1975 and felt because of each creative day of Genesis being about 7000 years long that it MIGHT be a possibilty, that armageddon MIGHT start-----
>>That is all , no one in any of the congregations talked about it, there were no meeting parts based around 1975!
>>There was no emergency preparations made to flee to the mountains, get on a boat, hide in our kingdom halls!
>>There was no presentation to the people we went to witness to about any special date but 1914 , which indeed, we do not in any way hold back from emphasizing as to what took place then!
>>Nor was there any other bizaar activity , such as with Jim Jones , David Koresh, and many of the religious cheats that exist today!
The anticipation we had was very similar to one that the disciples had before Jesus was resurrected:
(Acts 1:6-7) . . .When, now, they had assembled, they went asking him: “Lord, are you restoring the kingdom to Israel at this time?” 7 He said to them: “It does not belong to YOU to get knowledge of the times or seasons which the Father has placed in his own jurisdiction; "
That is the short and sweet thing of it , that we felt about 1975 , and many other witnesses did also.
Some went on some kind of tangents that our society did not encourage in any way!
That was their own activity!
We never resembled the extortions of the religious leaders who claimed because of "special visions" from their god, that unless 8 million dollars were given him that the lord would take him!
In no way do Jehovah's Witnesses resemble the clergy of Christendom and their acts of greed based on ill motives , that have fleeced their flocks!
So then what was & is our motive, could it be & has been that we simply look forward to the fulfillment of what Jesus promised mankind "....thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven....." and are truly anticipating the one and only hope for mankind?
We think so, no matter what mockery takes place not only on these pages but where we face it in all the world!

have self assurance you me, if the WT had envisioned that Armageddon improve into coming in 1975, Vot's father might have stumbled on the quote, no be counted how deep it would have been buried. He advised me approximately it, I looked for it, could no longer locate it, asked him if he ought to locate it, and that till he did i would not have self assurance there improve into this form of prophecy, understanding how I knew that the Witnesses instruct what the Bible teaches: no person is familiar with of the day or hour! i haven't asked him approximately it in 7 years, yet i anticipate he stopped searching for the quote. i improve into nowhere close to being born in 1975, yet I even have listened to communicate recordings from that factor too- you recognize, maybe it wasn't written interior the WT yet improve into introduced on the dominion Halls?- Nope, nevertheless no point out of Armageddon coming. some talks might have the brother point out the date (e.g "final month, April, we did so and so..") so which you would be able to tell wherein month of 1975 the communicate improve into given and that all of them stated how 1975 improve into the 6,000th 365 days considering Adam's introduction, and so they stated how Jehovah improve into backing the preaching artwork and how a lot of human beings had come into the actuality and that "next 365 days" (notice: 1976) they was hoping the upward thrust might proceed. plenty for the declare that "Armageddon in 1975" improve into "implied repeatedly returned". heavily, do no longer the persons who make such claims realize how ridiculous they look? they are somewhat proclaiming "i did no longer particularly love Jehovah, and that i did no longer have self assurance that any of that stuff improve into genuine- I basically joined to maintain my butt from being destroyed at Armageddon, you recognize- basically in case" that's in order that dumb.

Mark 13:32-37: "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the son, but only the Father. Be on guard, be alert! You will not know when that time will come. It's like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with his assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch. Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back--whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. What I say to you, I say to everyone "Watch!"
You have to expect it to come, and we can't pinpoint the day or the hour because it will not come. ONLY God Almighty knows that specific time. So let's just wait patiently and let JHVH God do the rest.

Some people took the date more seriously than others. Nothing great was said from the podium, some people just made assumptions and ran up debt thinking they would not have to pay it. At least they had great faith is all I can say.

Jehovah's Witnesses have said many things that did not come to pass. They changed the date. Research it. Jehovah will not curse you for seeking the truth.
