No need for an extreme diet!
Variety of exercise is the key I have found. For example..an exercise called Mountain Climbers.
Mountain climbers are done by starting in a pushup position
and then shuffling your feet in and out so that your knees are
moving in under your chest and then back out to starting
position. It sort of resembles climbing a mountain but flat on
the floor. If you want an advanced version, you can also shuffle your hands 8-10 inches forward and backward in
addition to the leg movements. This really makes it a full
body exercise and MUCH more difficult than standard mountain climbers.
After finishing each exercise, rest about 30 seconds before
starting the next exercise. Rest about 1-2 minutes after
completing each "tri-set" before repeating.
This will give you one of the best ab workouts you've ever had
without even doing any direct ab exercises. You'll see what I
mean after you try it!
Once you get away from the myth that a 1000 crunches and 500 situps a day is all you need to do for great abs, then amazing results can be seen.
There is a completely free 65 page ebook at http://www.projext.co.uk that you can download (no catch!) and it is excellent.
It helped me greatly.

Okay first off you will not get abs like britney in one month...just wont happen. You may start to see a difference in about 3-4 months. All you have to do is do crunches everynight. Tons of them. Hundreds of crunches. I think britney was doing like 400 crunches a day. Plus they put some makeup on the abs. I would just start doing as many crunches as possible at night and in the morning. Start small...and continue to do more everynight. You wont be able to do 400 the first night...but you can work yourself up to that. Cut back on sugar and get on a diet. Good luck.

I am with you Nimali, I wish I had nice abs. With eating healthy and doing situps/crunches you can get great abs in just a few weeks depending on the starting point of course. Though that is easier said than done, I always tell myself that I am going to start doing crunches and eating healthier and I never quite get up the motivation for the situps.
Good Luck!!

You can't just get results on just one part of your body, and you can't get big results with putting in big effort.
So you need to watch what you eat, and start doing some cardio and weights, in addition to crunches/sit-ups. You don't have to be really intense about it or do some crash diet or anything - just sensible, consistent efforts every single day.

You won't have abs like that video by January no matter WHAT you do. But if you do tae bo for about half an hour a day, they'll be looking pretty nice by that time.

Run a couple of miles every day (to lose the fat layer above the abs); do yoga; and sit-ups.
