Depends how you do it, dont go in a sauna and expect to sweat it off, you need water it is important. its not the water weight you dont want its the fat
quick way to loose fat : go running as soon as you wake up that way you burn off energtry straight from the fat source and do not use energy from calories consumed during the day as would be the case if you ran after eating somethign
Drinking More Water Everyday is actaully good for weight loss. Many places suggest 8 cups (2 L) of water a day. It sounds like an absurd amount of water, but actually, you can drink tea without sugar to make up some of the quota. In fact tea, especially green tea, rev up your "metabolism" (actually cause a temporary increase in calories burned).
For fat loss purposes, it is important to remind yourself that thirst is a much weaker stimuli than hunger. If you consistantly feel hungry after meals, don't immediately think that you need to eat more. You may simply be thirsty!
Needless to say there are many benefits of water. 69% of your body is made of it!
We can exist without food for months, but without water we can only survive for a few days. Your body is made up mostly of water, which:
Is essential for digestion, nutrient absorption and elimination
Aids circulation
Helps control the body's temperature
Lubricates and cushions joints
Keeps the skin healthy
Helps remove toxins from your body
Every day you lose water from the body through urine and sweat, and this fluid needs to be replenished. However, your body has come equipped with a mechanism that tells you when you need to replenish your supply--it’s called thirst!
Drinking water is good for you. It will not make you fat, if you drink 8 glasses a day or even 15. Just dont drink too much more than that. so yeah dont skimp on the water homie

For healthy fit people weight swings on a day to day basis are water weight. Because so many of the body's functions require water losing water weight to effect a change in overall weight is ineffective. We replace the water we lose each day with more water so there is no long term effect.
For this reason, for people with true weight problems who are trying to shed unwanted and unhealthy pounds, losing water weight is deceptive when you are watching the scale. Many fad diets do nothing more than cause a rapid water weight drop. This fools many into thinking they have actually done something significant and then in no time the weight is back.
When you are dieting to create a lasting change in your body the goal is to lose the weight from fat stores. As you lose weight you will also lose some water that was stored in and around the fat tissues since a portion of most all your cells are water.
Enlightening people that are attempting to lose weight with crazy fad diets that they may only be losing water weight is a way of helping them. Often these people are looking for a quick cure to a problem they don't want to honestly face. The quick fix will leave them disappointed in the long run.
Hope this answers your question.

losing several lbs of water weight has no effect on how you look, how your clothes fit or your body fat percentage. it doesn't increase the health either so nothings really being accomplished so what's the point? most people that don't care about just losing water weight use starvation and detox diets which do nothing except slow the metabolism and impede fat loss.
