Wouldn't bother me none. Plus I think Jesus would think it was cute.

i could be offended if the newborn could no longer call the teddy undergo in spite of it needed. nicely - probably. Osama Bin weighted down undergo may be somewhat offensive, as could desire to Abu Hamza undergo, yet our society isn't fairly that mad yet. The Tony Blair undergo could disenchanted some human beings too, however the chief this 12 months could look the "Jesus Christ, What a fine looking undergo" as we Brits could opt to tutor something of the international that our instructors can grin and undergo it on an identical time as getting a damned good thrashing, for the income of our Islamic extremists. i'm particular the right islamists will understand the pettyness. a acceptance is a acceptance. Why are there such fairly some Mohammeds for the duration of this international who're entire and utter scum, & who do no longer characterize their prophet?

If a teacher in the United States asked her class to name a teddy bear "Jesus," it MIGHT get a mention on some obscure Internet site or on the back page of a local newspaper. And no Christian that I know of would be calling for that teacher to go to jail.

I think it goes somewhere along the lines of idolatry and that's why people are making such a fuss over it.
But personally, I wouldn't care what you name a teddy bear. The fact that the kids voted for the name only makes it seem like less of reason to be upset- it's not like the teacher forced the name upon them.

Before you go asking the question to the Christians, i think you should go see what Islam says on the matter. Islam is NOT upset over this as you have stated, Sudanese are upset over this. Britian Muslims have condemned it and are working on a petition for the freedom of the teacher. Which is must more than what i can say for some of the islam haters i've been seeing on here.

If my child named his teddy bear Jesus then my thoughts would be that he likes Jesus as much as his teddy bear.
NOTE to st. aliao and Cathy: The maximum penalty appeared to be a beating of 40 lashes for this woman; however, there are demands (probably from the mullahs) that she be executed.
She received 15 days in prison and deportation

They might be offended but there would not be widespread calls for her death or even a court appearence or a jail term. Do you know why? Because there is this thing called freedom of speech. As far as i'm concerned, any human being who believes in a god is a ******* moron; pure and simple. Further, any human being who thinks another human being deserves to die because they 'disrepected' a mythical being is an even bigger ******* moron. I've said it before and i'll say it till i'm dead; until the shitty, rancid, putrid, poisonous folk-tale bullshit called religion is wiped off the face of the earth, humanity will be plagued by the moronic sight of thick-********* calling for the death of another human being over the importance of a non-existent being. The only thing i pray for in this world is the death of religious belief.

They would if it was against both their religious and civil laws to do so.
People like to get all upset when people of a different religion and culture do things that we find strange - yet they fail to realize that other cultures and religions think we are the strange ones.
Let a teacher in the US name her teddy "The Living God" and see how long she keeps her job.

Some believers might be offended, but this believer certainly wouldn't. Feel free to name your teddy bear anything you like.

LOL - no, but that would not be the same thing. How about naming them Peter, or St Paul, or Mary? Or how about all three, Peter Paul and Mary. Oh, wait - they already did that. I LOVE their music :-)
There's an old song, "Plastic Jesus, plastic Jesus, riding on the dashboard of my car. I don't care if it rains or freezes, so long as I have my plastic Jesus riding on the dashboard of my car.
Magnetic Moses, magnetic Moses, riding on the dashboard of my car. I don't care ..." et cetera.
As a Jewish believer in Jesus Christ, I can sing that song, and I think it's funny :-)
But, what if I added a 3rd verse, "Magnetic Mohammed, magnetic mohammed, riding on the dashboard of my car. ..." etc.
You think the muslems would laugh? Naw - they're too intimidated that their religion would fall apart if someone made fun of their beloved leader - they are REALLY insecure, aren't they? ;-}
