It’s only one day with a bunch of leftovers for the next few days and maybe some snacks on New Years. I’m usually thinner or the same weight because I’m running around all the time. Two or three days of splurging doesn’t make most people fat, does it?

the higher the body fat % the easier it is for the body to continually increase fat stores. this is why it's hard for lean people to get fat but for those that already are weight gain occurs very easily.

Well it depends on what they eat. If you think about it: pies, turkey, cookies, etc. all those calories add up quickly. And it isn't just X-Mas, a lot of people start gaining some weight around Thanksgiving, and by the time they have a chance to loose the extra weight all the stores put out the X-mas cookies, the desserts, pies, and all the other high-calorie foods that are associated with the holidays. And some people just gain weight a lot easier than others.
