Depends what kind of a family. I wouldn't trade my family for money. But I would rather be rich and alone then have a disfuncional family like Mr.Mastershakes.

Guess I'd rather be rich and alone (I already am poor and have a family). It's no fun to always be short on cash and not have $$ to make it thru to the next check. My children are grown now. I could give $ to them, give money to my church and charities. Be treated by good competent doctors instead of going to these #@%&* that I'm seeing now. There's so much good that you can do if you have $. I wouldn't hoard it up; I'd help ppl with it. And make sure a few children and elderly, .....others had a Merry Christmas. I'd do something also for our wonderful American Troops fighting for Americans back home.
There's nothing wrong with being rich as long as the $ doesn't have you.

I guess it depends on what kind of family, but if it was a caring one, I'd rather be poor and have a family any day, even though that's pretty much the situation I'm in right now =P At least I can count on them to be there for me, and I hate being alone.

Poor with family. Then I could be alone if I wanted to. A rich person never knows if someone wants his friendship or his money.

Poor with a family. Part of the human condition is forming lasting relationships. Without those relationships you might be rich, but you are not entirely human.

I would rather be poor and have a family. Rich lonely people grow to hate the world and turn out like Mr. Scrooge.
