Never ever speed.

Do you have any idea what type of speed measuring deivce was he using?

Depending on the technology, there is usually a certain percentage 'buffer' to allow for inaccuracies with both the speed measuring device and your speedo.

Technologies such as VASCAR and basic pacing usually have a larger percentage allowance, as they include person-in-the-loop which can cause variability.

Technologies such as LADAR and RADAR usually have smaller allowances because they operate essentially at the speed of light. While they can give false readings, they are generally more accurate.

Can't answer your question on what the fine will be; just seems odd that you were pulled for doing 5 over but keeping up with traffic.

As a Police officer for a major city in Indiana, I can tell you that we are instructed to allow up to 5 over and 5 under due to variances in speedometers. Any tickets we write for going 31 in a 30 or say 45 in a 40 are automatically thrown out.

"I don't have a quota" {and I only have to say that 94 more times by the 31'st}. Kidding,..... I get to write as many as I want now ! Dude you were speeding so suck it up and pay the fine or take it to trial. And yes I've been ticketed before so I know the drill.

Just pay it go on

and no it wont raise your insurence

and no points on license

and the ticket has a number on it you can call to get the amount, and not sure about there , but you can just stick it in the mail here........its no big deal , they are just trying to reach a quota for the end of the year...its the same everywhere

Cop was a jerk but you were speeding even if everybody else was too. 5 over used to be 1 points. Your insurance will probably go up too.

by law, anyone going over the speed of 70 mph is subject to being pulled over. it doesn't matter if you were going 71mph. I believe that the fine is $5 for every mph you are over the limit. must be quota time.

no pints but its a violation and it will increase your insurance. You need to get a lawyer and fight it and pay a fine but will save you money in insurance premiums in the long run.
