I am with a great guy we are both soldiers and we both take great care of each other but it seems like everytime we go somewhere we have problems. For example last weekend we went out somewhere and some guys kept whistling at me then asking me why im with a whie boy while he was right there of course it caused major problems and we all got kicked out (if you know what i mean) then at the mall yesterday i actually had a caucasian woman come in between us and start talking to him like i was not even there?!! Its getting so tiresom sometimes i just want to give up...what would be someones advice for that? I mean comments are one thing but downright disrespect and violence is really causing problems.

I did actually tell the guys dont do that and held his hand but...it just seemed to make the problem worse

don't let haters make you unhappy. Be strong and tell them to their face what assholes their being.
I think you should handle these situations instead of letting him deal with it................ even the dudes that talk sh*t.... a womans touch can actually be more insulting esp when they get dissed. guys fighting physically or verbally only gets you kicked out.
if you stand up and get loud about the problem, the bar is more likely to buy you a drink and kick the guy talking smack out instead.....
women bring more customers.

Whatever you do don't let go of love because of society. I believe that you take the good with the bad. Marriage vows say for better or for worse. I am married to a black man and men disrespect him all the time. They know we are married (3 carat engagement ring! ) but they don't care. You can't change the way people respond all you can do is to change the way you respond. When that guy asked why you are with a white boy, your boyfriend should have let you answer the question (not jump in). At that point, you could have said because he is really good in bed or because I love him or because he is the best man I ever met. When that white woman approached him he should have introduced you as his girlfriend. You know what I mean? There are ways around the ignorance of society. Good for you!

Being as soldier myself and have a close Friend that is in a interracial marriage, They had a beautiful daughter last year, Flip said it was hard at first because of worrying about what her family thought of him, but they accepted him openly, and he got where he does not care what anyone else thinks. With both of you being in the military especially you since you are a woman, it will be hard. I know another couple she ended up getting out and it worked out better for them. The thing if you love him, and he treats you right, what does it matter about everyone one Else's hang up. as for those guys you should of said hey your butt would chase after some Blondie girl in a minute, so who are you to talk. Hi Alexis I am Proud of you not just a Soldier but as a interracial couple.I was a Driver for Janet Jackson in 98 Velvet rope tour and I always ask why Women will not go out with white guys.I went through the race riots in the 70s it sucked.For you I hate to tell you just hang in there but that's about all you can do.I hope your love will be strong enough to make it through the rough and young years.Goodluck.Sargent Kasey hawks 173rd airborne

Wow I am 23 years younger than my guy and for almost 4 years we have not have any problems. I am sorry. But if you are in a healthy relationship I would just hang in there. People think I am his sugar momma and go to me when it is time to pay. I just say he is paying. They feel really stupid after that! Misconceptions and ignorance I say. Hang in there.

It really sucks how people can be so ignorant about things they know nothing about. There is really nothing you can do about them kind of people. You have to go with your heart. If you really want to be with him then dont give up. You will just be unhappy because you are not with him. But if you feel you will be happier without him then leave. Good luck!
