or have all the religious folk gone and left you cos their book says so?

or did you think first, buy a rope and save yourself?

Wow Habib. Yes my question is still in my mind, but it's not this one. I cannot ask my question here, because it is private to me, and I am the only one who can answer it.

But I don't come here to ask those inner questions. I'll answer this one for myself, though.

I am the one who has brought a rope and saved myself. I don't feel I rely on others to make me a better person. I am climbing that rope myself. I seek guidance by testing others, like learning how tough glass is by throwing rocks at it.

People help me learn of their strengths when I experience their weaknesses. That way I can learn of my own weaknesses and pursue my strengths.

My faith is wih myself. I have faith that I can follow the right path. Through lighthearted joking I can anger somebody. I need no ill-intent, as ill-intent is a bad thing.

I only hope that through this there are also people who can become more forgiving of those who anger them.

((((hugs))))

Peace with you all throughout

I saved myself.

I spent years attending church. I went to services, to Sunday classes, to confirmation classes, and all youth activities.

And where did I end up?

Reading the Long Hard Road Out Of Hell while listening to Antichrist Superstar.

I eventually realized, I never really believed. I thought I believed; I was raised to feel as if God was real. I felt as if I'd been brainwashed, but they did a half@ss job and fxcked it up.

I tried to believe in "God." I wanted "God" to save me, because I knew I needed saving.

But you know what?

The only person that can save me, is me. Maybe a couple close friends can help me along the way. But "God" won't make me happy, or successful in life. Only I can do that. When I was suicidal, no "God" came bounding down from the sky to save my life. Only I could do that.

And I wouldn't have it any other way.

If I can't keep myself happy, and alive, maybe life isn't worth it in the first place.

No. I'm an agnostic.

I left organized Christianity because I began to realize over time that the religion had no superior credentials to any other religion. I also am the type of person who must be provided with evidence and logical arguments to believe such claims made in the Bible - I don't understand blind faith.

Suppose most religions have me going straight to hell, but thats a load of bollocks anyway. So saved from what?

Hum, nice sarcastic attempt on religion, but it doesn’t even clear what you are referring to.

Merely a hodgepodge of words jumbled up not making any sense. The question is still in your mind – in fact yours is the case of questioning for the sake of questioning !

I am a Christian, if that is what you refer to.

I don't know what you speak of when you ask if all the religious people have left "because their book says so."

The Bible does not tell us to leave anyone.

For most religions I'm damned but what the hell, who says they're right after all?
For my part, I think we're all saved once we die by leaving this crappy world.

There is no reason for salvation. We are not judged for the sins of our ancestors.
