It is written "“By prayer and supplication along with thanksgiving let your petitions be made known to God; and the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your hearts and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus.” (Phil. 4:6, 7). The truth is that God answers prayers. Hence you can say that an effect of your heartfelt genuine prayers to God is that God answers genuine prayers in His time and pace and according to His will. Remember, the answer from God can be a "YES" or a "NO" based on what the all-knowing God ---sees fit for you.

I believe I understand how you intended for this statement to be interpreted. Prayer definitely has the power to affect the actions of God, yet God still knows how everything will turn out and always has. Makes absolutely no sense to me, yet I believe it anyway.
We make a big mistake when we insist on a God we can understand. If I could completely understand the mind of God, then I would have no need of Him

OK !1 MYTURN!! hehehe! well now some rellay good responces too and the question was a bit off but u can understand what is meant yes mankind does have a power that affects GOD pimpin johnis correct in part n jean too1 is correct in part also and i liked WithLove joe james comment also . now prayer is a poer that affects u and its a power thataffects GOD as well , yes jean it it is our faith to thatGOD looks at .. for its by faith all the heroes overcame int he bible. its found in hebrews chap 11. but prayer is the key by daith that moves the hand of GOD TO WORK FOR US WHERE OTHERWISE IT IS LIMITED.... GOD has direct acess toothers and able to move in their life because someone is praying in faith for someone they care about.. ..
you could say that prayer in the hand of faith is the key to opening GODS tresures or his sorehouse depending on how u see it ,
tressure can be valuable or it can be junk or worthless because the individual using it doesnt have a clue as to what it is or how it operates.. so prayer without faith is of little value . will GOD ANSWER PRAYER if its for the wrong reason or your life is not right with GOD/. . WELLLLLL I WONT go their,, good question and 3 here had great answers too adding here!! GOD Does answer prayer according to HIS will and HIS answers can be yes ,, no ,, wait , soon or later just like abraham had to wait for his child from sarah.. sometimes through prayer he even gives us what we shouldnt have but gives it out of love , also hagar the egyptian maid can be a scenario of this . it wasnt GODSintention abraham take her to have a child with , amen

Actually Hon, It isn`t prayer. It is FAITH... He acts according to YOUR faith.. Prayer is just a part. He already knows your needs.. Prayer is communicating with God.. Many people without faith, PRAY and get no response.. Because they have NO faith...

I prayed that God would hook me up with Alicia Keys. He answered me back by saying He and Alicia Keys were vacationing in the Bahamas together drinking Peppermint Schnapps. Oh, why did you steal my girl, God?

"Prayer does not change God, it changes me" (C.S. Lewis)
I don't believe in the "power" of prayer, I believe in the power of the one I pray to.
