Why do most people practice Christianity instead of Judaism?

I'm pretty sure they do believe that Jesus was an actual person, just not their Savior.

Because after Jesus died, Paul and many others who never met him, wrote some stories which elevated Jesus from the position of young Jewish carpenter to son of G-d.

The first Christians were Jews. Today, Christians insist that Jews 'rejected Jesus' but when they say this, they are displaying the most awful ignorance about the Tanakh (old testament). They will claim that Jesus is mentioned many times in the Tanakh - but he isn't. Anyone who knows Hebrew knows that Christianity mistranslates certain key phrases to fit their theory about Jesus being predicted as the messiah in the Jewish scriptures.

The Tanakh does, in fact, give impressive detail as to how the Jews were meant to recognise the false messiahs - of which there were many - from the real deal. That's why the Jews back then KNEW, because they knew Jesus, that he was NOT the messiah.

But Christians don't want to hear this.

Paul was the one most responsible for developing Christianity. Those who wrote the Gospels did not meet Jesus and they did not witness his death. This is a key point to remember.

Now: just watch how many thumbs down I get by Christians who prefer to think that we Jews are 'confused' or 'ignorant'.

EDIT to the person who claimed 'there are many Jewish Christians' - NO THERE ARE NOT.

A person cannot be both Jewish and Christian; the theologies are mutually exclusive. Jewish religious law defines who is Jewish, and it clearly states that anyone who embraces another faith, such as Christianity, is no longer recognised as a Jew.

JACK THE GIANT KILLER - No, you do not have to be 'born' a Jew. Judaism accepts converts. Read the bible, the Jewish bible: Ruth was a convert.

People should get their facts straight.

EDIT TO WORDOF

- really? You may regret stating that. Jesus is mentioned countless times both praying and teaching in the temple/synagogue. He was a practising Jew and only someone totally ignorant of Christianity would claim otherwise. So, you coming to synagogue with me tomorrow, then? :)

Please ignore AUTOMATION WIZARD as he's talking utter rubbish. Living in Jerusalem does not make someone Jewish; plenty Christians and Muslims live there. And he is wrong to say that Jews share 'part' of the same beliefs as Christians - we don't.

Christianity is the followers of Christ. More people just like Jesus better. Also millions of Jews were killed in WWII so that put a huge depression in the Jewish population, which was only like 10 million at the time. Jesus being Jewish has nothing to do with people's decisions.

Christian means Christ man or someone who works to be more like Jesus Christ.

Jewish means:
1) You are a resident in Jerusalem (no religious indication here)
2) You are of the tribe of Judah (Your family tree goes back to the specific son Judah of the 12 brothers)
3) You believe in Judaism (no matter where you live or where your genetic code came from). People who believe in Judaism do not believe that the Son of God has been born in the flesh on earth yet. Therefore they do not share all beliefs in Christianity, just part of them. Clearly they do not want to be more like Jesus Christ when they do not believe he was the Begotten Son of God.

Paperback needs to get herself a copy of a Christian bible and see how much of it is in her own. Then she can correct her statement about Christianity and Judaism not sharing certain beliefs. She is right about many things she said (like saying that Jesus practiced the Jewish religion). She is very wrong when she states that all who read Hebrew are not Christian. Hebrew is not a very specific language. It leaves much to interpretation. She is also very wrong when she states that there are no Jewish Christians. They just don't fit definition 3.

Jews don't believe in the SUN, they worship SATURN which used to be a SUN... unknowingly just like the Christians unknowingly worship the SUN.... The Christians often accuse the jews of worshipping Satan because Saturn is Satan. The 6th planet, the dark star, the black sun... represented by the black square, and the black cube, like the black squares some hassidic jews wear on their arms, and foreheads. This is why the jews worship on SATURday, and the Xtians worship on SUNday... Islam it's primairly based on the worship of Venus which is the morning star, and the day of the week of Venus is Friday, which is the muslim holy day. The color of Venus is green, a few weeks ago they lit up the empire state building in green lights for 3 days starting on a Friday to celebrate the end of Ramadan. It's all just basic astronomy, and astrology. All religions are nothing more than observations of celestial events turned into fables, and parables.

Jesus brought in a new covenent. We are no longer bound by the law of Moses but we are to worship God in spirit and in truth and walk as Christ walked as a perfect loving being and accept him as the messiah to gain salvation. The law is salvation by works. We are granted salvation now by God's grace and mercy and our walk in faith. There is nothing wrong with practicing Judaism. There are Jews that recognize Jesus (Yeshua) as the messiah.

The Jews are a religion that does not even believe in Jesus the Christ,

Jesus is not a Jew, his parents were, Jesus was a Hebrew, compare these two collections of the Jews verses and the Hebrew verses of the Holy Bible at these sites and you will see,

They do. It's the same religion. Everyone simply didnt accept the new revelations. People never accept new revelations. they would prefer the old ones.

There are many Christians who reject the living prophets as well. nothing has changed.
