YES,, LAZURUS WAS DEAD FOR 4 DAYS , IT WAS CHRISTS GREATEST MIRACLE ALIVE!! did this change the religious aletercations the phairisees and sadducees had towards JESUS? they planned from this day on is to murder him all the more because their was no way to refute or explain away this mirace and so they could keep their religiosity alive,, ,, its in your veryown statement chuck!!!Luk 16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. . u need evedinces found in science and historicaly toback upthe bibles claims ,,still if u do this folks still , a great number at least, will scoff.. but then again some christians whodont have the research avaiklable are also refuting biblical truths so why should athiests believe in what they say then<< think about it . bro murray

It is a illustration and you are missing the point completely.
I wont tell you what it meant, because I know that your not really interested.

But I will tell you that it is NOT proof of hell being a place of torture for the dead.

Abraham in the Bible was called Gods friend.
Abraham was a righteous man that was prommised that Jesus would come through him and all rightous peopole would be of his seed.

For you to take this passage as literal , and that Abraham was burning in horrible torture forever in Hell , then you ALSO have to come to the conclusion that Jehovah God does not value his followers , even those that He calls 'friend' , and in the end he lets them suffer eternally.

That is NOT TRUE.....and niether does this passage prove the concept of hellfire.

This is not a parable, a parable is something that happens, but is told in a way that even a child can understand.

This is the story of Lazarus, just as Luke 11:24-26 and Matthew 12:43-45 tell the same story.

What is lacking is faith, If a non-believer does not have faith, nothing you or I can do will change it.

I like that passage. But people who don't know the history of the bible cant prove it wrong. They just cant prove nothing. By the time Jesus died they wrote the gospels many years later. The people that knew Jesus and all his miracles could have easily proven wrong everything if it was wrong and have the books destroyed. Can I suddenly one day write that the President of the United States in 2004 was John F Kennedy. Would my book last generations? Many witnesses that lived that year would prove me wrong. More than 500 people saw Jesus resurrected after seeing him die on the cross. Is that prooff of anything in the court of law. It sure is. Search your facts people. Your after life might depend on it. Bible is true.

it isn't a parable. Jesus uses a man's name. this is an historical event seen through the eyes of God.

this is prophetic of people who will not accept the Christ and will find themselves in hell.

lazerus being far off in abraham's bosom speaks of the glories of heaven. this story tells us there is no second chance after death... the inequalities in this life don't exist in the next, God is just.

the gulf that it mentions speaks of the seperation of sin. those who are in hell never put their trust in the savior, therefor what has taken their sin away?

This is no parable. At the beginning of the passage Jesus says 'There was a CERTAIN rich man......' meaning that he had to exist at some time in his life. All of Jesus's parables begin with 'The Kingdom of Heaven is like.......' And in all of Jesus's parables, there never were any names mentioned. In this passage, we see three. (Moses, Abraham, Lazarus). It's obvious this is no parable. If it is, it would be the first time Jesus went against the grain of His usual parables.

Hint: Get yourself a New Living translation, it is written in plain modern English.

Yes, those in hell will be able to see the saved being pampered and living in the mansions, God has prepared for us. But they will not be able to span the chasm that separates them from God and all that is good. There will be crying, moaning and gnashing of their teeth as they rue the day they chose to deny God.
