Statistics indicate the most secular societies have less crime. There's also the fact that the Troubles in Northern Ireland would end, the millennia-old Israel-Palestine conflict would cease, and abortion clinics would no longer be bombed. Then, of course, there's also the fact that more people would admit that they don't know everything they thought they knew about the universe, and would be encouraged to learn everything they could.
I'd say religion was made as a placeholder to explain the ways of the universe to ancient people. We're past the point where we can replace religion with an admittance of lack of understanding, and work to understand everything science will allow us to know.

I can never resist anything addressed to Scoffers.
Racism: Yes. Quite a lot of wars going on now based on religion.
Poverty: Yup. I could go on about tithes, papism here, but it speaks for itself.
Crime: No idea. I know the Bible is the most heavily shoplifted book in the world.
Porn/etc: And how much sexual repression do religions cause? Might want to think about the underlying causes of sexual crimes, there.
Nicer: Like yourself?
What would people be like?: More enlightened.

God isn't the problem. Religion is. The world would be better without hatred and intolerance and wars - all in the name of God. People could accept one another without religious prejudice and live side by side without the need to bomb one another off the face of the planet. There would be enough for everyone and asylum seekers and refugees would disappear overnight. It sounds like a plan to me.

It'd be much the same, though there would be one less reason for people to hate each other.
It wouldn't change the amount of hate, but it'd eliminate one excuse.
Further, the people living with beliefs that have long since been disproven might get a clue and catch up with modern knowledge.

You do realize that some of the countries with the lowest crime rates aren't Christian right? Just checking....
There would be less poverty if these HUGE Six Flags over Jesus churches would have smaller churches and donate that money to the needy. I use Bellvue Baptist Church is Memphis as an example.
You REALLY want stats thrown at you with crimes against children in ALL churches (not just catholic because they aren't special. It's everywhere)
Atheist are nicer to me then 85% of the Christians out there. So I doubt God has anything to do with that.
I'm not Christian yet I am not racist, I'm not poor and I donate EVERYTHING I don't need to abused women's shelters, homeless shelters and children advocates. I commit no crimes, there is no honor in that. I don't use drugs, porn doesn't hurt anything as long as it's not an addiction and I am one the nicest most compassionate people you will ever meet. I give to teh point that I go with out myself.
I just blew your theory out of the water.

Yes - no tithing.
Yes - less poverty.
Yes - no protection of pedophiles by the church
Probably more porn. But people would not care.
Less drug abuse - less poverty
Yes. No one would be telling me that I was going to burn in hell.
More aware that their lives were purely what they make of it and no one but their friends, family and neighbors could forgive their mistakes.

Less racism, crim, poverty? You kidding? All these things have happened because we have kicked God out of our lives. There would BE no world without God seeing as how He created it.

I don't want a world without religion. I want a world where YOUR religion doesn't interfere with my life. I would also appreciate a world where people didn't use their religion as an excuse for hatred and violence.
