go ahead and get one. The rags will say one thing and the SeaBees are another. I am a seabee CM2 I have tats as long as they can not be seen in your brown tee or even if it shows a little thats ok. I have them on my arms and never heard a word about it. plus if you get one now your looking to have to report it to your meps doc and take a little long to get in wait til a school. you'll see good luck
CAN DO

You can have tats on your upper arms as they long as they cannot be seen below t shirt length sleeves. Even though the sources listed are from the Marines, we are a department of the Navy ( the mens department) , so you can pretty much count on the order being the same across the board. Hope this helps, and be advised that sometimes a tat can keep you from getting a promotion.

If you absolutely cannot wait until after you are in the Navy to get a tatoo, then make sure it can't be seen when wearing a plain white undershirt. Anything else may disqualify you from service. Once you are in you will probably be able to find out for sure what you can and can't have.

Even if you get an official policy statement about what's permissible at that given moment, it most likely will change later so you're damned if you don't and damned if you do. Typical navy, get used to it kid!

Don't get one. They are a goofy fad. If you don't have one, you won't have to worry about what and where is allowed.
