The answers that you're getting for your islmic questions are mainly being given by people who don't know a d*mn thing about the religion. 85% of YA are atheist and faith rejecters anyway, they don't know anything (L.M.A.O!!!) If you seriously want accurate answers and understanding of what the religion is really about, why don't you visit a mosque or islamic website????? Or do you just want to stir up some more controversy? Don't be so gullible

BAJINGO, this obviously doesn't apply to you then so y the hell did you even waste time responding.
TEDDY BEAR MUHAMMAD, it's obviously believe everything the media tells you. Those people are extremist who happen to be muslims. Americans invade other peoples land and kill innocent people because they believe everything Bush tells them. We're terrorist too! Stop generalizing, EVERY RELIGION has extremist like this. Thank you for proving my point, good job!

They are here only to mock Islam
If someone has a serious answer it's better to ask it in Ramadan section:

Charmed,
I can understand why you might be so defensive with the state of affairs and the extremists in Sudan right now....moderate Muslims are taking alot of heat. Every religion has it's whack jobs. But here's the thing.....as far as religions go....there seems to be a whole lot more of Islamic radicals than the others....thus making it easy for the average person to assume that all Muslims are barbaric fools...and you are not helping matters any by attacking people for answering YOUR question....you asked it with the hope that you could insult others for their opinions. If you really want the world you think better of Muslims instead of being defensive be proactive....show the world the compassion and tolerance.....the world at this moment in time does not think that Muslims are capable of compassion and tolerance!

I myself have a deep respect for Muslims. It is based on the fact that, though many of their own are causing violence and hate from other religions to be directed at them, they are not retaliating to this hate. Only that minority continue inciting hate and recruiting more of the innocent to join them.
The Muslim religion is very similar to Christianity, in that it does use fear to command respect, and that it does use hate against its enemies, but, in both religions, the overall message is one of love and respect.
I think the only action needed to counter terrorism is for both sides to come together and actually listen to each other. There is a lot of anti-Islamic hate in Western countries. The majority of that was caused by terrorism over recent years. However it is being continually renewed and recycled by the media, who undoubtedly benefit from it.
In truth, I myself know little about the Islamic faith. However, I have absolutely NO doubt whatsoever that it is a religion of peace. If it were not, then it would be unpopular and would not have survived the centuries. There would have been so much more history of violence.
In truth, Christians and Muslims have coexisted peacefully together for well over 1000 years. So therefore, don't you think there would have been an epic religious war before now if Muslims were so hateful?
I am an Atheist, of the Buddhist faith, and I accept your critique that I "don't know anything". This is because I find it highly unlikely, in the present climate, that you would really have encountered too many people like me. That fact alone makes your argument very valid. Thank you.
((((hugs))))
May peace go with you throughout your life

They are very convinced of themselves, and people do find this interesting, like actors on a stage tend to act as strong characters to draw interest. This comes from
1) plausibility of Koran
2) fasting during Ramadan
and a bit of (sometimes a lot of)
3) intimidation and sanctions if they dare convert to some other belief
Fasting can make a person more convinced of their belief (right or wrong). Christians who fast also get to experience spiritual power as it strengthens not just the soul (as with moslems) but the spirit, since we are born again, and we can start conforming to the image of Christ, which also includes being able to work His miracles !

You are right.
It is terrible how people are treating them.
I dated a few Muslim guys when I was younger and for the most part they are no different than us.
Some are so Americanized that you would never know the difference if you just talked on line with them.
The thing that impressed me the most about them is how close their family ties are.
They think nothing of supporting a distant cousin When he /she moves here, while most Americans would never do this.
My, son has a friend from Saudi, and I remember when I asked his Mom where they were from how hesitant she was to tell me.
They are just a normal family just trying to make a better life for their kids.
Also,I love their food!

I agree. Many people believe whatever someone says on here. It's best to actually look for information on a certain religion to see if what is being said is actually true. The majority of the time, users make false statements to cause arguments.

I am fairly familiar with the muslim religion and here is my answer.
When the average (and I assume majority of) muslims stand up against the radical faction, then I will stop my bashing. The religion is fine but, the abomination that the radical faction has twisted into is completely unacceptable to any morals of any religion I am familiar with, including your own. But, when the radicals act out in such horrific fashions as they have in recent years, I almost never hear the mainstream muslim decry their actions. If you stand up, I will shut up.

For the same reason people rubber neck at nasty car wrecks, horrified fascination. I think you're assuming Atheists don't do quite a bit of research on things like ......mm religion for one. I bet many of us know quite a bit more than you do about Islam.

I took it upon myself to learn as much as I could about this cult after sept 11. What I have learned scares the crap out of me.
Let us be precise; I do not think poorly of muslims, I think poorly of Islam. It is a cult, it has enslaved the muslim world. It's professed goal is to enslave the entire world -- by force if necessary, and it needs to be abolished.
Beleive me, if Buddhists or Hindus professed that same goal, I would be just as down on them.
