Most Catholics, California 10 million, New York 7.3 million, Texas 4.4 million, Illinois 3.9 million, Pennsylvania 3.8 million. Greatest Catholic Density, Rhode Island 52%, Massachusetts 49%, Connecticut 40%, New York 40%, Pennsylvania 40%.

I would guess that it would be a New England state that has the highest percent of Catholics, because they have large Italian and Irish populations, both of which are predominately Catholic countries.
