I believe that ,from the evidence presented , Jesus is a compilation of stories about various "Messiah" figures who died in the years app. 10BC to 20 AD . Where is the first hand , unaltered proof that a man called Jesus of Nazareth existed as told in the NT ? Things such as government records , accounts of historians that lived at the same time , etc.

SDIT for KaYbR : Ever hear of the Placebo effect ?

Amhed ! ...
The Josephus writing is considered by most experts to be a fraud , placed there well after the death of Josephus . ( Also interesting , is that it never said he SAW or MET Jesus . )
The other two Historians you mention were both born after the supposed death of Jesus . So they were just reporting what folklore they had been told . Certainly not any sort of Historical Fact . And the word "christ" means Messiah ,and it was used by many of the various Jewish Protestant ( considered cults)Leaders of the time .

Gizmo3 : You gotta be kidding ! The Bible is Historically correct ? LOL

I was raised in the church so believing in God is natural to me. But also, Josephus, Tacitus, and Pliny the Younger talk about a man named Jesus who was in conflict with the Jewish teachings of the day.

Josephus writes "At this time there was a wise man who was called Jesus, and his conduct was good, and he was known to be virtuous. And many people from among the Jews and the other nations became his disciples. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. And those who had become his disciples did not abandon their loyalty to him. They reported that he had appeared to them three days after his crucifixion, and that he was alive. Accordingly they believed that he was the Messiah, concerning whom the Prophets have recounted wonders."

Tacitus said ""Nero fastened the guilt and inflicted the most exquisite tortures on a class hated for their abominations, called Christians by the populace. Christus, from whom the name had its origin, suffered the extreme penalty during the reign of Tiberius at the hands of one of our procurators, Pontius Pilatus, and a most mischievous superstition, thus checked for the moment, again broke out not only in Judaea, the first source of the evil, but even in Rome..."

And finally, Pliny the Younger wrote "They affirmed, however, that the whole of their guilt, or their error, was, that they were in the habit of meeting on a certain fixed day before it was light, when they sang in alternate verse a hymn to Christ as to a god, and bound themselves to a solemn oath, not to any wicked deeds, but never to commit any fraud, theft, adultery, never to falsify their word, not to deny a trust when they should be called upon to deliver it up. "

These three men are known world-wide for being excellent historians. To not believe these men is just pure ignorance.

I have no physical proof. I have my faith. That's how I KNOW He is real.

I believe that the Bible is the word of God. The Bible talks about the prophecies of Jesus, His birth and ministry and His death. The Bible continues to talk about the followers of Jesus.

Even if you choose not to believe in God or Jesus, the Bible has many things in it that can help people be better. Read it as a guide book to help you live a better life. In addition, you find that you can obtain that faith in a supreme being that loves you and wants you to be happy.

Have a good day!

Well for one, with the way people are, it is extremely possible that JESUS with the way He lived, would have been treated exactly as depicted in the Bible. But no matter how much you point out to someone the fact is as always, You can lead a horse to water....

Psalms:14:1: The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

That's about the truth of it, Captain Atheist, except You never did it. "Imagining" Jesus will bring him into Your heart.

He has lived in my heart for most of my life. Really. No, You can't see proof of him in an X-ray because he wants You to look harder than that.

Was he God? Opinions differ.

Was he The Son of God? I say, he was A son of God, and so are You. IMHO.

Why, because the Bible said he is. And the Bible was written by people and people never lie. How could fisherman who didn't know how to read be mistaken about anything? Of course he's real.

This question is ask all the time....
You would not really understand because you are not a believer, you will have to experience it for yourself.
The Bible says, to unbelievers the Gospel is foolishness.
I will tell you though,
I had a true, real experience in Jesus. He touched my life and changed me from an alcoholic, druggy, premiscuous (?), selfish, hateful female...into a loving, patient, godly woman.
He is still changing me everyday and blessing my life in more ways than I can count.
I have seen people healed in His name, changed, and given life.
This is why I believe in Jesus and know He is alive and well.
God Bless and Godspeed...

I believe He is real because I have experienced His forgiveness. Jesus said Himself He is real, as recorded in God's Word, The Bible. He is telling the truth, or he is a lunatic & a liar, but I believe the Word of God. So, you either believe it or you don't, therefore, the need for 'faith'.

Horus/Hesus/Jesus is very real he's the SUN... he lights our world, he gives us life, he does all things. The 12 disciples are the 12 signs of the zodiac, it's all very simple. You'll be celebrating the rebirth of the SUN after winter solstice on Dec. 25th. Christianity is nothing more than current MYTHOLOGY. Go study some ancient religions that came before Christianity, many of the parables in the bible are based upon the plays they had in the ancient mystery schools. Go do study some history, and learn some basic astronomy, and astrology, and you'll know exactly what the bible is all about. It's nothing more than fables based upon natural occurences, same goes for all of the other religions.
