Why aren't people adopting all these little lives? If they see abortion as murder, then why isn't throwing fertalized eggs away murder?
*I wouldn't presume to my stance on this. You might be surprised. But I am curious to people's answers.

I know you CAN adopt eggs. I'm just saying, there are a lot of people (Mostly Christians by the way) who won't donate those eggs.

I'm not saying that it's not most Christians who DO adopt out eggs. But you can NOT sit there and tell me that all Christians who go through IVF do that. You'd be full of it you know it.

Because they're just a bunch of hypocrites. There have been proposals to use these lives for stem cell research, but that's been shot down, because they'd rather have them thrown into the trash. I saw a bumper sticker this week that said "Conservatives only care about you until you're born". :)

The Bible says different things when concerned with when life begins:
Genesis 2:7 "the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being."
Is drawing your first breath a sign of being truly alive?
Leviticus 17 says more than once that the life of any living creature is in it's blood.
Blood does not begin to flow in a fetus until a few weeks after conception (the exact number escapes me right now).
I'm not too religious, nor do I really like discussions about abortion, I just thought that I would throw this out there.

It's about controlling women in particular. Men participate in the process of IVF in that they make the decision with their wife and the goal is to produce children. But abortion is about not wanting to maintain a pregnancy. So you could argue that the Christian conservatives are pro-birth more than anything else. And we all know the impact of a lot of kids on a woman...

Its a good question. The only thing I can think of is the view of the institution. An abortion clinic causes death outright, an IVF clinic helps give life, though some side results might be death.

Sweeping declarations like "existence starts at concept" isn't a ok-concept out place. era. it fairly is variety of like whilst Dan Quayle's spouse ruined arguably the superb answer that guy ever provided to any interview question whilst she suggested, nastily, "our daughter will save the infant". Morally, i think of as quickly as you get previous the preliminary levels, then it starts to count. At what precise, suitable factor, i do no longer understand - i'm no longer a scientist. it fairly is a kin count. i'm no longer against invitro clinics through fact it is the preliminary levels. it fairly is submit-attachment and whilst boost fairly starts that i might care. people who're by contrast additionally tried to sell my lady pal on the assumption as quickly as that the morning after pill replaced into "an abortion". sigh

PROOF, PLEASE. I think your presuppositions are preventing you from seeing the truth. Apparently it's totally escaped you that the IVF embryo adoption program began as a CHRISTIAN INITIATIVE.

Adam was not considered to be alive until he took a breathe of life,
Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
You have made a very good point of logic,

i hope crimson and clover answers this.
i think what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If they think it's murder at the abortion clinic, then i'd like to see them required to protest at the IVF clinic. that'd be funny.

That is a damn good question. I guess the difference is, how are they going to force a woman to have an egg planted in her? They can't. It goes back to the pro-choice argument of "get your laws off my body".

Excellent point. Why do we celebrate birthdays rather than conception days? Besides abortion isn't murder and it's mean and heartless to even suggest that. 2D
