A vet will give you an estimate in age. If you got him/her from the shelter... alot of times they do lie about a dogs age just to get them a home and to save them from euthenasia. Your vet will be able to help you determine the aproximate age... however, if the lady was wrong... dont take the dog back if he is a good dog. He deserves a good home reguardless of age. Good for you for adopting an adult dog... you are truly a good person for it! Happy Holidays!

your vet can tell by it's teeth. do you see any grey around it's forehead, lower eye lid / nose area? it might be too soon to see grey. it's a new dog to you, it could look grey, and be a white spot only. since you picked it out, you must of been attached to it for some reason. a 5 year old dog still has a long life a head of it. i'd say 10 years maybe more depending on it's care. be happy you adopted it, and saved it's life. i'm sure it will give you years of love, and enjoyment.

only the place is your canine bleeding from? If she is Bleeding from her intercourse area, it would desire to advise loads of issues. it would desire to selection from a non-useful spaying/not finished (requiring a DNC), to a minimum of something straightforward like her sewing from the operation isn't therapeutic right. Is she licking at it or scratching on the wound with a view to reason the bleeding? after all a visit to the Vet that preformed the Spaying, could be so as ASAP. The Vet shouldn't cost you for this pass to, despite if it rather is on the subject rely of the Spaying. if so, the Vet might desire to have a "cone" placed round her neck to supply up her from getting on the not healed wound along with her tooth/tongue! in my opinion I want any slice of result to be stapled (steel staples that want expert eliminating after 10 days-2 weeks or reckoning on the therapeutic technique) the different variety of sewing is a self dissolving type...not counseled IMHO! oftentimes spaying isn't a risky operation if the canine is spayed till now she is approximately sixteen weeks. The older she gets might desire to complicate the area, besides as her weight! get decrease back to the Vet and consistent with danger deliver the countless solid responses (printed out) with you in case you like the solutions! solid good fortune to you and the Pooch!!

A vet can give you an estimate. The wear on the teeth, presence of gum loss and the dog's general appearance can be clues, so it will be just that - an estimate.

it's true you can tell by their gums and teeth, but if you clip your dogs nails you can tell by counting the rings just like on a tree trunk.
