I admit that i have a quick temper and when I'm angry i dont think b4 i speak.

Example: I need to conserve gas. Since i have to pick her up today i decided to stick around somewhere to wait as opposed to going home to then drive back. She insist that I should go home because she doesnt want me to wait around which in return will make her hurry up with getting dressed to not keep me waititng.

I advised her that it was fine with me waititng because i need to conserve gas. This went on back and fourth for a couple min and in the end i got irritated because i felt it was my choice to wait . I said things like "Just let me be, thats my choice, i am choosing 2 wait" and "leave me alone"

She was hurt because of my comments.

MY question: I know i am wrong for getting loud but i feel that me wanting to wait was my choice for my own good. Even though her intentions were good her persistance was what got to me.

Any advice to help me control this problem? I dont want to lose her!!!

RESPECT IS KEY HERE !!!

You need to respect her op pinions and her privacy...

I am not saying her opinion was right or that here privacy involved another guy coming over 20 mins after you were supposed to leave (although either case might be true)

What I am saying is that you need to understand that what she is telling you is very important to her and when you challenge that she feels as if you do not value her judgment.

HINTS:

What you should say is:
"If it is alright with you, I will just stay out here and wait - that way I save gas, and will be right here when you are ready - If that's okay with you? If not, I can go down the street to a store and return at _____ but, I don't feel like driving all the way home and waisting gas. What do you think, babe?"

She sounds like a keeper so - understand and value her opinion!

If you don't the pimple faced, drug-using geek, with a loser band, that works at Burger King will win her heart and have what you used to - don't chance it!

Sometimes the most mundane things can be the most frustrating, and knowing that someone really cares about you can make a person feel guilty for being cranky (sigh, I feel this way all to often). I know you talked about it, but was she clear that you were waiting to save gas rather than just waiting to save time? She didn't want to feel rushed, but maybe too she doesn't want you to feel bored, either. Maybe just reassure her that you've got a book/magazine, walkman, whatever, and that she should take her time, and you're ready to go whenever she is.

Perhaps the real reason you wanted to wait was to keep tabs on her? If so, then that's a whole other issue.
