Hinduism is the religion that is most misunderstood and is the most wrongly practiced. It is the world's oldest religion and as a result it has become mixed with culture and superstition. The wealth of Hinduism itself has become lost and very few Hindus know what true Hinduism is.
Shall we seperate the Hindu religion from the culture and superstition that it has become mixed with and thus bring out the true beauty of Hinduism.

I think that by having a much greater deal of study, analysis, discussion, debate and the production of more scholarship of Hinduism, we can undertake a complete reformation and renaissance of Hinduism. This debate and discussion needs to take place within Hinduism as well as between Hinduism and its affiliates (buddhism, sikhism and jainism). We can completely take out all the rubbish that has contaminated Hinduism and we can take Hinduism back to its true and original roots. Hinduism is one of the most scientific and intellectual religions but because of the manner in which it is praticed, many think that Hinduism is nothing more than a superstitious idol worshiping religion. When the truth is that Hinduism, in terms of its content is bigger than all the other religions in the world combined. We, the educated, modern and professional Hindus should undertake a renaissance of the Hindu religion and save it from the bakwards.

Dear Brother, You may see it that way But I see that the reniassence has already BEGUN, in fact it started 500 years ago with the apperance of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu
He has extracted the essence of the sriptures (preaching pure Bhakti unto Sri Hari)- as the sadhan and sadhya
He has said -
naham vipro na ca nara-patir napi vaisyo na sudro
naham varni na ca grha-patir no vanastho yatir va
kintu prodyan-nikhila-paramananda-purnamrtabdher
gopi-bhartuh pada-kamalayor dasa-dasanudasah
I am not a brahmana, I am not a ksatriya, I am not a vaisya or a sudra. Nor am I a brahmacari, a householder , a vanaprastha, or a sannyasi. I identify My self only as the servant of the servant of the servant of the maintainer of the gopis-sri Krsna. (Cc. 13.80 from Padyavali 63)
There is So to say about His teaching (that can come later)
Is he Writen about in the sriptures ? Yes. can you belive it?
The Evidence From Sruti for Lord Caitanya
4.1
mahan-prabhur vai purusah sattvasyesa pravarttakah
surnimalam imam santimisano jyotiravyah
The Personality of Godhead, Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, is brilliantly effulgent and imperishable like molten gold. He is the Supreme Controller. He controls the mode of goodness and through sankirtana bestows spiritual intelli-
gence on the living beings. In the guise of a sannyasi, He is the source of spiritual purity and of liberation. He is therefore known as "Mahaprabhu".
(Svetasvatara Upanisad 3.12)
4.2
yada pasyah pasyate rukma-varnam
kartaram isam purusam brahma-yonim
tada vidyan punya-pape vidhuya
niranjanah paramam samyam upaiti
When one realizes the golden form of Lord Gauranga, who is the ultimate actor and the source of the Supreme Brahman, he attains the highest knowledge. He transcends both pious and impious activities, becomes free from worldly bondage, and enters the divine abode of the Lord. (Mundaka Upanisad 3.3)
Evidence From Bhagavatam for Lord Caitanya
4.3
krsna-varnam tvisakrsnam sangopangastra-parsadam
yajnaih sankirtana-prayair yajanti hi su-medhasah
In the age of Kali, Krsna appears in a golden form, chanting the two syllables krs-na. He descends along with His weapons, limbs, saktis, and eternal confidential associates. Those with intelligence worship Him with the sankirtana yajna. (Bhag. 11.5.32)
(too many verses to give here)
in fact this is Dhanya kali yuga or prem yuga
some say it will last 13,000 yr. and some say it will continue all of kaliyuga and kalki will not need to come
Anyhow the wave of mercy is about to hit so get ready
? can you reply me ?

In ancient India or Hindustan, Hinduism as practiced its just not a religion infact a support system for well functioning of life & things associated with it.
yes, very much a Hinduism Renaissance is need,
all the teachings in vadas, upnishad's, true culture they all need to be revived but in a suttle manner, I don't want any blood sheed on the name of religion or God, the way crusader's or jihadi's did or still doing.........A true hindu or follower of hindusiam is not allowed to so & should not support so.
first step can be taken from schools, by introducing kids to prayers, hawana's, sikhs, jains or bhudist's are no different they are tributries of same river.
we need to revive the joint family system,
I think every hindu or follower of hinduism shoud visit Gayatri pariwar or shanti kunj in haridwar, atleast one in life time, I have been there, & got revived to a great extent

yes...there is a need of hindu renaissance as they still practised such things which cannot be find anywhere in hindu's relegious scripture..there were several reformers in india which tried to remove the social evils in hindu society but unfortunately evils are still there..The Modern Hindu Renaissance (1800 AD - Present) witnessed the emergence of many social and religious vices in the Hindu society in India. Many leaders, saints, scholars, social and religious reformers came up on to the scene and tried to bring the society back into the tradition of Hindu Dharma. This was the period when social reform movements like Raja Ram Mohan Roy's Brahmo Samaj, Prarthana Samaj, Swami Dayanand Saraswati's Arya Samaj and other such movements became very strong. Mrs. Annie Besant (1847-1933), an Englishwoman, translated and popularized the Bhagwad Gita, and established the Hindu College in Benaras, now known as the Benaras Hindu University. Sri Ramakrishna (1836-1886 AD), a famous sage of modern times, infused the true spirit of Hindu Dharma into his followers. Swami Vivekananda (1863-1902) elucidated Hindu Dharma within and outside India and introduced the Vedanta philosophy to the West. Sri Aurobindo Ghose (1872-1950) eloquently interpreted the basic concepts of the Hindu Dharma and expounded the yoga philosophy for the transformation of human consciousness. Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941), one of the greatest mystical poets of the world, expounded the Upanishadic philosophy through his songs in Gitanjali and in many of his other works. Mahatma Gandhi (1869-1948) extended non-violence, a Hindu cardinal virtue, to social, national and international affairs. Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan (1888-1975), a philosopher, statesman, and the second President of India, interpreted the classical Hindu philosophy in the context of the modern world through his numerous scholarly works, such as Hindu View of Life.

I agree with Nakeshu that the Renaissance has already been started.
I see more and more hindu youths turning towards hinduism... in my time in college 90% were communists now in my son's college 70% are practicing hindus
Now hindus have started raising their voices against the opperssion by the minorities... and pseudo seculars.

This is a great proposal. Hinduism is a religion not a culture! It should be modernized yet contain purity in the religion itself!
