If I can pray to the god of parking spaces, you can pray to the goddess of the coffe bean ;)

Well. we all know that the Norse peoples made it as far as North America (Vinland) They generally took advantage of what they found wherever they went because they were a practical people. Had they sailed further south and come across the coffee bean I think they would have 'been' certain to use it to make beverages.....probably alchoholic ones.

That being the case I don't think that The Aesir (or Vanir ) would mind you offering a prayer to the coffe bean.

I think it would probably be more sensible to praise the Spirit of Coffee- though if its so important to you, I reckon you can take it as a deity.

As for the Aesir- why would they mind? I've never heard that they demand worship like the Christian deity does- only a warrior's spirit.

Firstly, it's a goddess.

Secondly, coffee is a plant native to central america, I believe, although it grows also in southern america and africa. So if you're folkish, you really can't mix that with the norse gods.

Thirdly, IMHO, the Aesir don't really give a **** untill you keep praising and honouring them on regular basis as you did before. If I was you, I'd go ahead.

Fourth, do a me favour and throw in a prayer for me, will ya? Tell my dearest Caffeina that I miss her SOOOO much ever since I was forbidden to drink coffee... *cries*

if the aesir don't like it, offer them some coffee or a nice tea. even gods need a jolt now and then.

myself, i praise caffeina's less-appreciated consort, the great and powerful dew, every morning. sometimes twice. he has a way of getting me up... of waking me up. none of my other deities seem to care. ours are not jealous gods, for the most part.

I give much praise to Caffeina, goddess of the bean; she who awakens the spirit and stirs the mind.

EDIT: I thought I was the only one who prayed to the parking space gods. I'm happy to hear they are getting more recognition.

As a Pagan, I'd say fine. In general, we tend to be rather eclectic. On the other hand, Heathens tend to be a bit more strict regarding their pantheon.

I guess it has to be a personal decision.

Actually, the Heathens I know tend to be rather eclectic too. Probably not a problem.

I've been in a caffeine celebration ritual. Most brought coffee, I brought Earl Grey (hot), others had hot cocoa. Having been up late with the celebrations at a gathering, we were in need of the caffeine wights and gave them thanks for the liquid booster.

Caffeina is an acceptable deity in almost every pantheon. I don't think the Aesir would mind. (In fact, if you share it with them, they would probably like it.)
