This is not a baited question, I am very curious. Stems from a conversation I had with a friend of mine last night. I am Christian and do not believe in ghosts, spirits whatever. He is Atheist and believes in all of the above. I found it interesting that I believe in a supernatural being but not ghost where as his views were directly opposite.

I think its very possible for an Atheist to believe in Ghosts, particularly if they believe they saw one. Most atheists would end up coming to the conclusion that it was their mind playing tricks on them but being an atheists has nothing to do with the supernatural, it just means you reject theism and the belief in a God.

I'm agnostic and certainly don't believe in the supernatural, although the ultimate question of whether there is a god or gods is still undecided the primitive beliefs of most religions or superstitious people are certainly ruled out by rudimentary science. There's been that many people looking!!! If there was anything supernatural it'd be put in a box and sold for money ages ago.

i'm no longer precisely an atheist yet you basically attempt to end me from answering! I do position self belief in "paranormal" phenomena. I have witnessed some issues myself and that i have also studied the problem in large intensity. i hit upon it alluring. I continuously used to assume that technology might want to describe almost each thing. It seems it may't. there's a fantastic style of phenomena that leaves scientists scratching their heads. issues ensue that no you'll clarify. One celebration is 'spontaneous human combustion'. some thing that scientists were attempting to describe for decades. they have had some sturdy theories, yet none of their theories have stood as a lot as any type of attempting out. Even now there is not any sufficient reason for this phenomena. In my humble opinion, this is wisest no longer to rule some thing out. technology isn't infallible and this universe is a few distance too mysterious for any mere human to ever understand. There are some issues we are able to easily not in any respect comprehend.

There are a lot of things I don't know. However, I like to look at evidence and see where that leads me. And, just like with God, the only evidence I ever get are from unreliable resources. With ghosts it's mostly from people who are scared easily or can manage to make a few bucks off a ghost that lives in their attic.

There might be ghosts, but probably not the ones most people claim to see. There might be a God, but probably not the one most people claim to know.

Atheist here. I don't believe in anything supernatural. I don't know any other atheists who believe in anything supernatural. However, since atheism only suggests a lack of belief in god(s), it is possible. I have to admit, I find it very odd that an atheist would believe in the supernatural.

I'm an atheist and I don't believe in ghosts. If you believe in ghosts, you might as well believe in God.

Since most (true) atheists don't believe in gods because theres' no extraordinary evidence for such extraordinary claims, the answer should be that, no, Atheists don't believe in the paranormal.....

Nope.

However, I do believe that life exists somewhere else in the vastness of the universe- we'd have to be pretty narcissistic to believe we're the only 'intelligent' life in existence.

An atheist who believes in the supernatural is not an atheist at all. How can you believe in supernatural beings, and truly believe in your mind that a god can not exist?

I grew up with the "paranormal." I saw, smelled, heard, and felt many many things that no one could explain. I do not attribute these things to dead people. I simply state that I don't know what they were, I just know that I experienced them. For all I know, it could be fuzzy reception from another universe.
