Listenening to a muslim cleric on the radio this morning, he said that the koran doesn't even mention blasphemy, and that mohammed never prosecuted or persecuted anyone for blasphemy.
Why are those nutjobs going mad in the Sudan about it then?

Blasphemy is an offence against God.
God is too big to be offended
There is, therefore, no such thing as blasphemy

The cleric was badly mistaken. Denial of Allah is bad news in Islam, and can get you killed.
