In my mind, a teddy bear never sins, provides happiness and comfort. So isn't a teddy bear at the very least deserving of this name?

They say that you can name humans, but not animals or objects. The idea is that since Muhammad was human, naming another human is not disrespectful. It is their version of using the Lord's name in vein.

It's dumbfounding that an evil man may be honored by being called Muhammad. But should a child name a harmless teddy bear Mohammad, now that's a death sentence.

I'm told that there is a law that defines using the name Mohammed as the name for an object or pet a legal form of blasphemy. I don't really know - it's just what I've read.

well, the name teddy bear came from the name teddy roosevelt =) so in a slight way, someone was named teddy bear... =].. but even so.. whos says u cant name your child teady bear?
