Do you really think that God is just going to show up in front of your eyes? You say you need to see it to know that it is there right? Well I guess you can't see ;your brain so that doesn't exist either, right?

That's obvious. The proof of a thing is in the thing itself.

"Do you really think that God is just going to show up in front of your eyes?"
If he doesn't then what choice is there? I'm not demanding anything by the way. If he does great if he doesn't also great.

"You say you need to see it to know that it is there right?"
Actually I say like most atheists I've met, I need evidence of a thing that is equal to the claim.

"Well I guess you can't see ;your brain so that doesn't exist either, right?"
I have seen and actually held a few brains from others. I can't say I've ever seen a deity but If I did have proof of other deities then that would lend more credence to your claims.

I always have to laugh at the tired old "no evidence would convince atheists" argument. Do those of you making this claim realize you're defying and denying your own god?

What you're saying is that your god either doesn't know what would convince anyone or isn't able to. Your own argument is counter to your claim.

Why shouldn't he show up? He did it all the time in the bible.

The people in the bible didn't have faith. They had proof. They had talking bushes and snakes, and hands writing on walls, and all kinds on nonsense. (Of course, this is all hearsay, because the only people who saw this "proof" were the people making the claims)

But regardless, let's say god does want to play a game of galactic hide and seek. Sure, okay, that makes no sense whatsoever, but I'll play along.

In that case, god has done a superb job of hiding, by providing PROOF that the bible, the Torah, and the Koran are false in many if not all of their accounts.

Apparently, your god wants us all to abandon all of our senses, and our understanding of the way this universe works, which is verifiable and testable, and simply believe in his "magic", because another man told us to. Remember, "GOD" has never told you anything. You are relying completely on hearsay, what MEN wrote in the bible.

So, what proof do I want? How about your god at least get rid of the proof that he doesn't exist (as he is defined by your holy book)? Then I'll think about it.

I want empirical evidence for the supernatural. It doesn't even need to be a deity.

There are thousands of belief systems.

And I can confirm that my brain exists. Ever hear of MRI?

Let's not go back to the playpen of ignorance. There are thousands of belief systems, and without evidence there is really no way to claim that any of them real.

The closest thing I get to evidence is when people claim to be speaking for a god. But they don't generally say anything that sounds remotely smart or compassionate. And their texts don't hold up to reality.

Here's my question for you?

What will it take for Christians to stop preaching to atheists? Except in debates like here, we don't ask for religion, we don't want it in our free governments, and we don't like it on our doorstep.

Since your God is everywhere and all powerful, he could just stop by for tea or coffee, his preference. Maybe we could go see a game and then he could answer some questions.

As per your analogy of the brain, that is probably the worst one I have ever heard. You probably would like to take that one back right about now.

The funny thing is if God showed up in front of an atheists eyes --the atheist would say--okay i'm wrong. If he showed up in front of a Xtian's eyes-he most likely would say--if am one god and all gods--i love the goodness in all people--why have you corrupted all that I am with the narrow minded adherence to something i wrote for middle eastern farmers?

Vision is not the only means of obtaining knowledge.

I want God to do something completely scientifically impossible.

Tell you what, let's set the bar a little low. Without medical intervension, let us see a leg amputee, missing the entire leg, grow a new leg.

That'll work.

Better yet, Jesus claims that with faith, you could move an entire mountain, surely just a few cells being moved around should be no problem.

We cant see our brain so it doesn't exist, thats so stupid. Why is it always convert or condemn with you god freaks. So we have different beliefs why do you care. We want to live our lives free from restrictions of religion. Just respect the fact that we don't believe in god. We shouldn't have to justify our reasons.

no god or gods of any type or description will ever turn up to prove anything. if a supernatural being turned up in front of you saying, " i am zeus father of the gods" and performs so mind blowing miracles would you believe him. no, because it goes against your ingrained believe system you'd run off bleating about satan. the whole mind set that can generate and seriously think that this is a valid and incisive question seriously limits the users ability to see the world clearly.

What the hell do you care what anyone believes in or doesn't believe in? So you believe in God yet you're on here putting down other people? Doesn't seem too God like to me.
Didn't Jesus tell us to keep our light under a basket?????
My God is an all loving God. I figure when we die if I'm right I can spend eternity doing the nah, nah, nah, nah, boo, boo dance. If the Atheists are right, well we'll never know.
But that sure doesn't mean I'm going to bash them or anyone else who doesn't GASP believe what I believe.
