This is a secular nation. Let's kick that old Nazi in the Panzers with some good old American sign waving.
The first leg of Benedict's visit to the U.S. will be Washington, where his agenda includes an official White House reception on April 16.
Benedict also will celebrate Mass at the new Nationals stadium in Washington on April 17 and hold meetings with Catholic priests, university presidents, diocesan educators and youth organizers.
After that, the Pope flies to New York, where he is slated to address the United Nations on April 18 and celebrate Mass two days later for thousands at Yankee Stadium.

Why because being an Atheist just means you don't believe in God? It does in no way means you have to do anything or go around spreading your beliefs at all. If you don't believe something you sutomaticaly have to be an advocate? Nope.
What's wrong with the Pope from an Atheist prospective? A deluded old celbit man that drives around in a glass framed car and tries to bring up a dialog as a "wolrd leader" by proxie on social issues a Atheist might already agree with? You might feel sorry for him cause he is wrong but there is a football game on Sunday why bother?
The biggest peoblem with the worlds fundamentalist ###hats is that they try to push thier will on others don't be an polarist be yourself.

Because Atheists consider themselves pre-eminently logical, and they have no logical reason to do so.
1) They would be protesting a man who, by their own claims, clings to an irrational belief in a supreme being. If the Pope is irrational, protesting him would be akin to standing outside a mental ward picketing paranoid-schizophrenics.
2) Even IF point 1 could be gotten by, there is no "good" or "evil" in an atheists world beyond their own judgment, and to claim there is would be to foist an irrational belief upon others. You can't tell me that foisting religious beliefs is "bad" but foisting secular beliefs is "good."
3) Assuming they get over their lapse of logic and their hypocrisy, they still have to decide WHAT they dislike more, that he was a boy in Nazi Germany, and did without thinking what millions of boys his age did, or that he has moved beyond his youth and embraced a Higher Power that they don't want to believe in?
"He's bad because he was a NAZI!" "NO, he's bad because he 'found god!'" Which is it?

Well I am not atheist but I would go right along with the atheists and protest the pope coming here. His whole regime (Roman Catholic Church) and hisself are an apostasy.

Would it make a difference? If enough people turn out, will he hang up his Pope hat and denounce God?
