If your not satisfied with the service they are providing or they are not keeping to the agreed contract of sale, sue them!

I had a similar problem with a dishwasher, once the writ lands on their doormat you will soon have your cash back beleive me.

Basically it sounds like your goods "are not fit for the purpose" ie they don't work after 4 months. The goods were not manafactured to last this long and it is not unreasonable to expect them to last a lot longer.

Wite to them and send it to their head office by recorded delivery ( so they can't say they lost it!) outline your complaint and give them 14 days to either return your money or replace the item new for old. Tell them if you have not heard within the 14 days from them you will take them to the small claims court.

So what you need to do is go to court service on line .org, they will guide you through the whole process and you can file your suit on line and they do the rest for you, from memory it costs around £20, but you get that back if you win.

9 times out of ten these things never get anywhere near a court, you get your cash to spend elsewhere.

I sued because my machine brokedown after 15months from purchase and won hands down not bother!!

Have a look at the web site and give it a go, don't let these large retailers bully you.

Good luck.

which branch did you buy it from, go speak to their manager or customer service. the tv engineers have a minimum of 7 days to come and look at your tv if they cant they will tell you when but usually no longer than 10 days. if the engineer has tried to come out to you and you havent been in then unfortunately currys are doing all they can in regards to the customer service. the sales of goods act means that you can buy a product and have 12 mths guarantee but you can take it back upto 5 years later and class it as "unfit for purpose" the people instore cannot do anything only head office can. go in and speak to them and tell them your problem if they want you as a customer they will speak to their people and sort it. what exactly are you waiting for?

Copy and paste these answers; print 'em, and send 'em to the Head Honcho. When complaining, write to the Head Honcho. Mention trading standards, statutary rights, etc. If all else fails, dump your faulty TV in the middle of their shop (when it's full of customers) and make an announcement of your choice! Complian to the manufacturers. Always write a proper letter. A few choice phrases to add: 'I shall not be recommending you to my friends!'; 'Roll this paper into a tight tube and insert it somewhere!'.
DO NOT SLANDER OR LIBEL IN YOUR LETTER!
The best way is dumping your faulty item in the shop and refusing to leave the shop unless they sort it. Don't get angry... just speak loudly. If they phone the police, fine, what are they going to arrest you for? If they do arrest you, don't phone your lawyer; tell 'em you're phoning the Press!

No these larger stores don't give a damn. We buy all our electric goods from a long established local shop. They cost you more, but the after sales care is first class and nothing is too much trouble. All Crry's want is a quick profit and no problems- because they don't know how to cope with them, and they don't care about their customers.

Because the only staff they can attract with such low wages are people with all the manners and good grace of Floyd Mayweather.

They are utterly useless. Ever used their "Reserve & Collect" service? I reserved something and then drove for an hour to collect it, only to be told that they didn't have it. When I wrote to their Head Office they e-mailed me back with something that basically said "tough". Don't shop there again - I haven't.

You've answered your own question - because they're sh*ite.

[Vast amounts of money spent on commercial presence - advertising, volume of stores, corporate image, etc. but very little emphasis on actual quality - goods, staff, after-sales support etc.]
