I'm assuming you're in your teens but anyone can feel this way. It can be hard to meet new people and it's easy to be shy.

It's hard to get over shyness. BUT you first start by loving yourself - for yourself - warts and all. No, you're not perfect - but you have a lot to offer others.

Then you start by offering that love to others - No, that doesn't mean jump into bed with them - but if you know someone needs help in a subject you're good at, offer to help them. What can they say - buzz off? Well, that's OK. They'll eventually come begging - when they do - help them.

When you meet someone new - compliment them in some minor way - "I like the way you cut your hair" or "you have a nice smile" to someone of the opposite sex is a great ice-breaker without being too gushy. Or you could compliment someone by how they do something - "Wow. I can't believe how you get girls to talk to you. How do you do it?" Again, what's the worst they can do - tell you to buzz off? Oh well, no skin off your nose, really.

But it's hard to get over shyness. AND no matter what - you'll always put your foot in your mouth at the worst possible moment. For that - you'll have to develop the ability to laugh at yourself.

Good luck.

Some times u just have to ignore these kind of people. If they have nothing better to do then maybe you need to try and make friends else where. If people u don't know r this way it could be that there just jealous of u for some reason. Some people in this world r stupid like that. When u come across these kind, just try and go the other way or laugh w/them like it doesn't bother you. Other wise ur living ur life for them and not who u really r.

Well I'm sure that's just all in your head. However, if you do have something that people pick on generally then here's a tip. Don't get upset. Laugh at your own imperfections. I noticed that people will lay off when they don't get the upset response they were hoping to cause.

I laugh at all of the things people think they can goad me on. Have a sense of humor, and don't let every word hurt you.

The power of words is big, but that power is limited by how and if you allow it to bother you. You shouldn't let it get to you if one or even a few ignorant people make fun of you. Whenever someone says something to me I look at them for like a second and look away as if to communicate "there's better things that can get my attention and I won't bother wasting my time"
