Even though Cintron damaged his hand in a less than impressive win over Jesse Felicano and can not fight until after March 1st Paul Williams' promoters still want him to fight on Feb 2nd. Dan Goosen his promoter wants Williams to pick a fight out of these opponents - Zab Judah, Ricardo Mayorga, and Luis Collazo. Personally Judah and Mayorga are done as fighters and Williams will outpunch them to death. The only real fight I can see will be Collazo but that will not bring any money as far as PPV if that happened which I hope it doesn't. Otherwise it will be a good test and tune-up for Williams to cahllenge Cotto for a unification later in the year. Other opinions?

I mean Williams should pick Collazo first as a tune-up or test fight then fight Cotto in a unification later the same year.

As of now there really isnt any good fights out there for Paul Williams besides the obvious superstars (Mayweather, Cotto) so as of now i see his promoters setting up fights with Judah, Mayorga, Mosely, or Clottey, guys who in my opinion would lose to Williams but are known names. I see him having maybe 2 more fight before he fights Cotto because we all know Mayweather will look for a way to not fight him.

I really can't add too much to the subject since I agree with everyone who answered before me. Thumbs up to all of you. I will say that a fight against Judah or Collazo would only interest me, because they are either speedy or slick, which would perhaps give us a glimpse of what it would be like if Williams ever got a chance to step in the ring with Mayweather.

It's too bad about Cintron. I was really looking forward to that fight.

I'm with everyone else. PBF will avoid Williams like the plague. Williams does not need more time...he can beat PBF today. Williams is unpolished right now.......the fact that no one is jumping on him speaks volumes of the risk the he poses to everyone at welter even though he is relatively inexperienced.

Hopefully your projection is right.

When I picked the guy that I wanted Williams to fight..it was Cintron. Cintron matches up well physically and has some strength. Hopefully the Willaims-Cintron fight will happen.

I agree that there arent any fights for Paul, but I strongly disagree that Floyd will "try to find a way not to fight him". Realistically .........PW is not ready for Floyd. Not to say that he wont be, or that it wont be a good fight.......but he needs to get a few guys under his belt first....
