The commercialization of Christmas is the prime example.
Instead of a spiritual celebration of Salvation, it has become a material celebration of parties and presents.
It can't be denied that the spiritual meaning of Christmas is obscured by the spending; it has gotten so bad that those who profit most from Christmas are declining to acknowledge this even with a "Merry Christmas" greeting.
On the other hand, there are a lot worse things we could be celebrating materially than gift-giving, generosity, and good fellowship. The true Christmas spirit seeps into even the most materialistic and greed-filled aspects of the secular "Holidays."

I agree. Commercial aspects of some holidays get quite ridiculous. Here in the Netherlands, on of the major holidays is Sinterklaas (Saint Nicholas, december 5/6). These days, the candy related to it is in special display cases starting early september. Commercialisation trivialises and objectifies holidays.
