any allegations, such as "Islam abuses women" are to be supported by quotes from the holy book and original doctrine of Islam. any false info and inadequate statements are irrelevant

I can't say that I'm adevout muslim , but I think that Islam is the only 100% true divine religion left.I read the answers above ,the examples brought in one of them were put in away to make you believe what the answerer wants.those verses were taken selectively you don't what's there stories and concerning what cases .Islam is not only a religion , it's a way of life and it tackles every aspect of life and after . The Quran has proven that it is right in every thing it says take for example the expantion of the univers in sura (al thariyat)verse 47 ,(We built the sky with our hands and we are expanding it) now how can an illiterate man 1400years ago living in the desert know this .I took this example only because a fact such as this can't be known by someone who is on earth but by someone who is above,God.

In my opinion your question presents a false alternative. I am no scholar of Islam, and I have no reason to deny that millions of individuals live moral and civilized lives where Islam is at the heart of their personalities. But like all religions, I believe it to be a product of humanity. And as a product of humanity, it seems to have its characteristic faults.

Don't you think that your Question is a complete oxymoron?

Islam and Religion [not a cult] and Divine Truth all in the same line?

Perhaps the one thing left out would be the most appropriate, don't you think?

Cheers!

PS,

Noticed your additions just now. Maybe you'd like to read a few verses, if not chapters, of the Koran?

“men have a degree (of advantage) over them” Koran2:228

The witness of woman is worth half of that of man Koran 2:282;

Women shall inherit only half as much as their male siblings, Koran 4:11-12;

If a women becomes captive in a war, her Muslim master is allowed to rape her Koran 33:50;

A woman who is not totally submissive to her husband will enter Hell Koran 66:10;

Women are “tilth” for their husbands (to cultivate them) Koran 2:223;

Men are in charge of women, as if women were imbeciles or minors who could not take care of themselves; that they must be obedient to their husbands or be admonished (verbally abused), banished from the bed (psychologically abused) and beaten (physically abused) Koran 4:34.

Hope these helped.

By the way, there are tons more, but it would take too long to narrate all of them.

Peace.

Muslims believe the Quran to be the perfect word of Allah (their imaginary God), and as such it cannot contain any errors or contradictions, and must be perfectly compatible with science. It is so perfect that readers must conclude it is of divine, rather than human, origin.
Let’s see it for ourselves:
•the Qur'an does have scientific errors.
•the Qur'an contains numerous verses which contradict each other.
•the Qur'an gets cosmology predictably wrong.
•there is nothing miraculously new in the Qur'an
•the Qur'an is not original, but a rather mixture of old ingredients such as Zoroastrianism, Judaism Sabianism, and Samaritanism in its orgins.

If you missed reading "Mein Kampf", the Koran will do just as well . . . here are some direct quotes ( taken IN context ) . . . with some additional sources below . . .

Enjoy! :-)

Bukhari:V4B52N260 “The Prophet said, ‘If a Muslim discards his religion, kill him!’”

Sura (8:12) - "I am with you; so support those who believed. I will strike terror into the hearts of those who disbelieved. You may strike them above the necks, and you may strike even every finger."

Sura (2:216) - Fighting is prescribed for you, and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not.

Sura (3:151) - Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority.

Sura (9:5) Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the non-believers wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush.

Surah (2: 98) – “Allah is the enemy of the unbelievers.”

Surah (2: 191-193) – “Kill them [unbelievers] wherever you find them….Fight with them until there is no persecution, and religion should be only for Allah.”

Surah (2: 216) – “Fighting is enjoined on you, and it is an object of dislike to you; and it may be that you dislike a thing while it is good for you, and it may be that you love a thing while it is evil for you, and Allah knows, while you do not know.”

Surah (3: 19) – “Surely the true religion with Allah is Islam…and whoever disbelieves in the communications of Allah then surely Allah is quick in reckoning.”

Surah (4: 104) – “Be not weak in pursuit of the enemy.”

Surah (5: 51) – “O you who believe! Do not take the Jews and the Christians for friends; they are friends of each other; and whosoever among you takes them for a friend, then surely he is one of them; surely Allah does not guide the unjust people.”

Surah (8I: 12) – “I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.”

Surah (8: 15-17 ) – “O you who believe! When you meet those who disbelieve marching for war, turn not your backs to them. Whoever shall turn his back to them on that day – unless he turn aside for the sake of fighting or withdraws to a company – then he, indeed, becomes deserving of Allah’s wrath, and his abode is hell… So you did not slay them, but it was Allah who slew them…that He might confer upon the believers a good gift from Himself; surely Allah is Hearing, Knowing.”

Surah (9: 29) – “Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Apostle have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth… until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.”

Surah (9 :33 ) – “[Allah] it is who sent His Apostle with guidance and the religion of truth, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions, though polytheists may be averse.”

Sura ( 8:60 ) - “Infidels (non-muslims) should not think that they can get away from us. Prepare against them whatever arms and weaponry you can muster so that you may terrorize them.”

Bukhari [4:52:177]: Allah's Apostle said, "The Hour will not be established until you fight with the Jews, and the stone behind which a Jew will be hiding will say. "O Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, so kill him!"

Bukhari, V1B4N234: "The prophet advised them to drink the urine of the camels. Later on when they killed the prophet's shepherd, the prophet seized them, gouged out their eyes, cut their hands and legs, and left them thirsty in the desert to die."
