Me!

My family has missionaries in it.

I almost studied theology in college. I was going to be a minister.
Then I actually got an education in college.
I was all conflicted and confused for years.
Then GW decided to attack gays and tried to outlaw their happiness (getting married), and I said to myself, "I don't agree with him, he's an asshole."
Listening to that idiot speak I realized I didn't believe any of the hateful conservative crap that was shoved down my throat for 28 years.

Religion is evil. It is an illness.
Conservatism is greed and hate.

I am proud and happy to have transcended to a state of liberal atheism. I am not happier as a person, overall, but I do enjoy being able to see the world as it truly is. I am happy that I no longer feel the irritation of cognitive dissonance that is an integral part of being an intelligent believer.

I have also come to terms with my mortality and the fact that all that happens when I die is that I decompose. I find great comfort in this. It makes sense and I don't need a convoluted and irrational system of beliefs to explain it.

Almost all who actually named a religion named Catholic??? 1 Episcopal-nearly the same, and 1 U/M, far enough removed not to count.
Could this indicate a trend? I know its one small "un-scientific" survey, but its really one sided.
