The green card (which by the way isn't green, it's pink) is like a Visa (that's what they call it in Central America!) It's a permission to be in the United States for a period of time! IT EXPIRES! It's not a permission to work! It used to be that you got those (the green card) to visit the country like a tourist or to see family!

The residential alien card is a permission to live and work in the U.S. your a resident! you can be here! Legally! Your a resident of the United States, but your not a United States citizen!

The way you become a U.S citizen you have to go through this long process! take test! and make a judgment of loyalty to this country! and renounce loyalty to your country!

None. Two names for the same document (I-551) It's technically called a "Permanent Resident Card".

(It isn't green, btw, and hasn't been for decades)

they are 1 and the same..

it used to be green in color before but they changed to yellow now..
