I don't understand why you want to gain, because you seem about the right weight now.
If you want to gain healthy weight, add lots of protein to your diet and start a weights program.

Yes work out. Don't do much running tho. Do a lot of strength training. Lift some weight. Do it evenly tho. One day bicepts next day tricepts. Legs the next, back then stomach. In such a rotation to be evenly worked out. Give your self a day of rest. Work out 6 days a week. Remember evenly and balanced is the key. Don't over do one thing and for get another.
As for eating eat a ton. Eat until you cant eat anymore. I'd suggest eat 125 grams of protien a day. Shakes, chicken, meat, eggs, ect. Any protien shake will work wonders. Stay away from sweets. Get your fats from whatever meat you eat, milk, and nuts.
BEEF CAKE. Also creatine works wonders on the weight gain. Medium to heavy on the weight sets. Stay away from long work outs keep them at 1 hour sessions a couple times a day different body parts each time. The reason for this is when your muscles run out of oxygen they use a different way to fuel themselfs at prolong states it drains your muscles and ruins productivity in the long run.
Get a trainer they can help. Only for a few days to know how to do it right then just ditch them.
Minus the creatine if your a female i dont think it would be a good idea. also remember the 70;30 ratio. Every pound you gain working out 70% is muscle 30 is fat. Whenever you lose weight the right way 70% is fat and 30 is muscle!

If you'd like to try gaining weight, start drinking whole milk. Also, eat the most allowed for each portion a day. 6-8 breads or starchs, 4-7 vegetables, 3-4 fruits, 2-3 meats/proteins, 2-3 dairy and minimal fats. Eating on the high end of these recommendations will give you the most calories and nutrients each day. Plus do more weight training than strictly cardio. This will build muscle which is heavy - giving your more weight!

You need to add more protein and fat to your diet, and then exercise a bit with strength training. Carbs burn quickly, but having fat will give you more long term energy. The protein will build muscle, the kind of weight you want to put on, not just fat. If you lift some weights, and you have to push yourself a bit so that your muscles are working, they will utilize the protein and become bigger and stronger.
I was at a gym once and ate mostly carbs. Lots of weight lifting only made me lean. As soon as I added more protein the muscle weight came on.
Eggs, tuna, meat, beans and legumes are all good sources of protein.

Always eat healthy foods. To gain weight healthily, eat what you normally eat and add in a handful of peanuts or other nuts and seeds a couple of times a day. They are healthy for you and will help you gain weight slowly. I would also suggest gaining muscle. Check this website out for good tips:

Watch that episode of the Simpsons when homer gains weight to fake disability, lol.
Here is a food test, rub the food against a piece of paper. If it doesn't turn clear don't eat it, lol. If it does chuck it down.

well theres two ways to gain weight: 1. eat a lot and just gain fat, or 2. eat healthy and work out to gain muscle and some fat. you dont sound like you want number 1. which leaves...
2. protein protein protein!!! eat one gram of protein for every pound you WANT TO be. if you wanna be 130lbs. eat 130grams of protein daily. its difficult to get used to, trust me, but plenty of people do it. then all that protein will be great when you start working out. it builds muscle and MUSCLE WEIGHS MORE THAN FAT. so if you can get more muscle, you'll be leaner and heavier and well, stronger.

Proteins are required for building muscles, so having high protein foods like eggs, milk, peanut butter, protein shakes will help. Starchy foods contain a lot of carbohydrates.
