I just get little red bumps and it itches, as everyone does. One friend told me to put deodorant on it, and it helps a bit. Does anyone have other tricks that work?

Use shaving cream.

Try shaving with your conditioner you use on your hair. Lather your uh area with it while in shower and let sit for a bit then do your thing. I found some stuff at Walgreens called Bikini Zone, but you have to use before hand. I had the problem with the bumps too. That really is a pain. I have just started using an electric shaver I found at Walmart that is supposed to be for womens legs. I know may sound gay coming from a dude, but I like to keep my down there area ya know trimmed I guess you would say.

Hmm I am not sure about the deodorant. I am use to shaving since I have been doing it for years. However I make sure to change my blade often, maybe having a separate on for your bikini would be good ( a good razon) and use a good shaving cream like Aveno and don't rinse the area with hot water. Hot water opens your poors. Rinse with cool water and pat dry. Don't shave to often, give the hair time to grow back, shaving everyday hurts and gives you bumps/razor burn.

Don't use a regular shaver. Get a Finishing Touch personal trimmer from Walgreens or Wal-Mart for about $10. Works amazingly well. I use it all the time and never have any bumps or irritation.
