You CANNOT join ANY of the military service academies unless you are single. No wife or husband or children until after you graduate.

If you enlist your family will get full medical and dental coverage and you will receive a with dependants pay for housing. The CG or Navy is a good choice for people with young families to look after. The chances of you coming home alive everyday is much more likely than it is with the Army or Marines.

If times are tough for you, lessen the load some by going to talk to both the CG and Navy recruiters. Hear what they both have to say. See which branch fits your needs best.

It is not a bad choice to enlist at all. If you play your cards right and work hard, save your money instead of blowing it on stupid new cars and other things you can make a very stable and productive future for your family.

My husband and I are both active duty Navy with 14 month old twins. We retire in 3 years and have an outstanding life and future ahead of us. Your educational benefits are also ourstanding. You can get your college paid for while on active duty and if you decide to get out in a few years you will have even more money to use for college with your GI Bill money.

Asking us a million questions will only help you a little. Get in the car with your wife and go to the recruiting station. If it is hard to get out with such a young child call the Navy AND CG recruiters and ask them to come to your home and talk. They will and will be happy to share any information you will need to make a good solid decision. Recruiters are not bad people. Call them today and maybe they can come tonight or tomorrow. Write down ALL your questions and see what they have to say.

Joining the military is very scary, but once you are in you will be so happy with your decision. You will have the time of your life and things will be great because money and survival will not be things to worry about anymore. Just call them or go see them. No pressure, just information.

sorry, the Academy is not going to happen. you are NOT allowed to have any dependents while attending. Only Single people are allowed to attend, they cannot get married while attending and they cannot be married before attending.

It would be best to ask a recruiter about that.
I believe while you are in training you will have to make arrangements yourself.
After your in you will have many options for care for the family. Your health care will extend to your wife and child.
