and supposed Islamo-fascism?

I'm not the one who is confused. My question explicitly states that it is the GUISE of your religion, and not its factual and practiced tenets.

Explain how if not for our "Chosen by God" President, we would be in the same predicaments we are currently?

Have any of you heard of S 1959?

Don't think the police state we are heading toward has anything to do with Christianity, can you give some examples? It does, however, have everything to do with Islamo-fascism and the terrorism it brings. And, just for the record, I am against big government in all of its forms and believe in the freedom of the people and the laws of the Constitution.

we've purely bigger enforcement of the regulation, however the regulations themselves are nevertheless ok. In a totalitarian state the police could seize all and sundry opposing the present government and imprison human beings without purely reason or a truthful trial. i assume Guantanamo is somewhat totalitarian, yet pretty much all the police rigidity isn't.

The United States is not even close to a Christian nation, so your question is meaningless. Our government is much closer to anti-Christian than pro-Christian (the faith based initiative is actually a joke.) We are becoming a more totalitarian country but it is based on fear of Islam. It is not based on any real or made up tenant of Christianity.

Edit: Just read your comments. I see your point. Under the guise of Christianity? To be honest? It makes me ill, and loathe the organization of Christendom all the more ...

Do not confuse Christendom with Christianity. When you read what Jesus taught, you can pick almost any teaching of Christendom, and see where it blatantly contradicts what Jesus and Christianity teaches.

Their religious leaders love to be seen with the worlds political leaders, and even try to take part, whereas Jesus withdrew from any attempt to make him gain political office, and decried the entire system.

John 15:19 - "Now because you are n part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you"

John 6:15 - "Therefore Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone."

James 4:4 "Whoever, therefore, wants to be a friend of the world is constituting himself an enemy of God"

They teach that God is in control of the world, but the Bible clearly teaches that he is not, and has not taken control of the world

1 John 5:19 "the whole world is lying in the [power of the] wicked one"

Luke 4:6,7 - "the Devil said to him: “I will give you all this authority and the glory of them, because it has been delivered to me, and to whomever I wish I give it. You, therefore, if you do an act of worship before me, it will all be yours.”"

They teach that it's ok to call their clergy by titles and follow their traditions. An exact contradiction to what Jesus taught.

Matthew 23:9,10 "Moreover, do not call anyone your Father on earth, for one is your Father, the heavenly One. Neither be called ‘leaders,’ for your Leader is one, the Christ. "

1 Timothy 4:1-3 "However, the inspired utterance says definitely that in later periods of time some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons, by the hypocrisy of men who speak lies, marked in their conscience as with a branding iron; FORBIDDING TO MARRY, COMMANDING TO ABSTAIN FROM FOODS foods which God created to be partaken of with thanksgiving" (Caps mine)

Matthew 15:3 "In reply he said to them: “Why is it you also overstep the commandment of God because of your tradition?"

Time and time ago, Christendom has proven it has nothing to do with the very basic teachings of Christianity.

What does being a police state have to do with Christianity? Nothing. Perhaps you prefer a less secure society, where criminals find it easy to victimize innocent people.

You're just looking for something to whine about. Pull your head out and stop trying to blame Christianity for your woes.

If Bush was truly God's choice, then there is no better argument than that for a secular society.

He may have been chosen by God (really) but he was voted in, by people. You would do better to deal with visible causes don't you think. :)
